WORSHIP Weekly Scripture Study Apr 10 by Matt Hemsley God can restore our fortunes. He has done it in the past, and He can do it again. That s the theme of this Psalm, some of whose verses may be well known to us: The Lord has done great things for us; Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126 comes in two halves. The first half is an act of remembrance, looking back to the time when Jews were released from their captivity in Babylon. When the good news came that they were going to be allowed to return to their homeland a torrent of joy broke out. The captives were like those who dream (v. 1). The news was simply too good to be true, so wonderful it impacted the nations around Israel: it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them (v. 2). devotional, questions + deeper study are continued @ bit.ly/1qvywpe
