THE DISCIPLES ARGUE ABOUT WHO WOULD BE THE GREATEST Matthew 18 1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven (Demonic question.)? (God is the greatest then Jesus.) 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven (Get rid of the carnal mind.). (The Bible tells us 13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God (A childlike attitude.). 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. (Second time He told them.) 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16) (The Bible tells us 15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not (That is the law of God): for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein (Attitude, meek, humble, no arrogance.). (The Bible tells us 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word (Not resent it; pure and holy.), that ye may grow thereby (In grace of knowledge of the Law of God.): 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious (Hunger and thirst after Him.). I Peter 2:2-3) 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven (The Bible tells us 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant (A servant is a great person; a slave to God and Jesus.): 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:26-28). 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea (The Bible tells us 1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these

little ones. 3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. (Is of another spirit, Satan, get rid of it.) Luke 17:1-3). JESUS WARNS AGAINST TEMPTATION 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! (Unless we get to the point where we think like God that all are important; all have different functions so respect one another.) 8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off (Get rid of the habit and attitude.), and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire (A warning.). (If you fly off the handle and start cursing; and causes to you to sin and are insulting don t treat them like; treat them like human beings; don t do it to anyone; stop. God wants His nature in us.) 9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire (Resist the devil-don t give in to him.). JESUS WARNS AGAINST LOOKING DOWN ON OTHERS 10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven (All that record is written against anyone who causes one to fall.). (The Bible tells us 1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:1-8) (The Bible tells us 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. 20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season (Needed to learn a lesson.). Luke 1:19-20) 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost (The lost sheep of the house of Israel; those that went by the wayside by leadership.). (The Bible tells us 14 Are they not all ministering (serving) spirits (Speaking of

angels; sent to serve-for God s people.), sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? (By nature we care for animals but humans we let go and say who cares; this is an evil spirit.) (The Bible tells us 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, Matthew 15:3-7) 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. (And yet if we put them down, their spirit is broken and they face away. How does our Father think of our attitude we should constantly ask.) JESUS TEACHES ABOUT HOW TO TREAT A BELIEVER WHO SINS 15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass (Sin) against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. (The Bible tells us 3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. Luke 17:3) (The Bible tells us 1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Galatians 6:1) (The Bible tells us 15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 2 Thessalonians 3:15) (The Bible tells us 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him (Don t put him down or judge him.); 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. James 5:19-20) 16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established (Still trying to keep it private.) (The Bible tells us 15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. Deuteronomy 19:15)

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. (The Bible tells us 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Want to pray for him that he will come around.) Romans 16:17) (The Bible tells us 1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints (How many sue one another that call themselves Christian.)? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life (When we become spirit beings we will be above angels.)? 4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church (Meaning the outsiders-that s how they did it from their culture; but we should do it under God s Law.). 5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren (We accept those that know the Law of God.)? 6 But brother goeth to law with brother (A failure), and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong (God will reward you.)? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded (Contrary to nature but when we walk with God; we don t worry; we become the victor.)? 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. I Corinthians 6:1-8) 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Don t deal with him anymore but not with hatred.). (The Bible tells us 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19) 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. JESUS TELLS THE PARABLE OF THE UNFORGIVING DEBTOR 21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? (The Bible tells us 4 And if he trespass (sin) against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Luke 17:4) (Be merciful, kind, our character like Christ.)

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven (The Bible tells us 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13). Starts describing the nature of forgiveness in dealings 23-27 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. (The Bible tells us 2 If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. 3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. Exodus 21:2) 26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. (The nature of God and forgave all his debt.) 28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest (Now in contrast to the former story.). 29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt (Evil nature-not good; we do not have a Godly nature until He plants it in us.). 31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: (Christ called him what he was.) 33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? (The Bible tells us 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Matthew 7:2) (The Bible tells us 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath

forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32) (The Bible tells us 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:2) 34 And his lord was wroth (Angry), and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him (Consequences of evil actions.). (The Bible tells us 13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. James 2:13) 35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. (Point of the parable-forgive and forget-that is the nature of God and the purpose of the Law of God; it is to make us like until we become the Law-merciful forgiving compassion to all whether friends or not.) MEMORY VERSE And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, Even as God for Christ s sake hath for given you. Ephesians 4:32 BELOW IS THE SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON FOR TOTS
