Service of Worship Sixth Sunday after Pentecost June 26, 2016 Eleven o clock in the morning Bridging Faith and Learning Endless Road, by Margret Hofheinz-Döring, (1910 1994) This morning Jesus has challenging words to those who wish to follow him. In response to various people saying they will follow the Lord wherever he goes, Jesus tells them that the Son of Man has no place to lay his head, and that nothing else can take priority over the work of the Kingdom. The Apostle Paul describes the outworkings of a Jesuscentered life, both in the rejection of evil, and the cultivation of the fruit of the Spirit.

At the close of today s service, the Lord s Supper will be celebrated in the Memorial Chapel located to the left of the chancel. Immediately following Communion, a service of prayer for healing will be held in the same location. The service consists of prayers for healing and wholeness with anointing and laying on of hands. All are invited. The congregation is invited to reflect silently during the prelude as a time of prayer and meditation. The Chapel welcomes families with children. If at any time during the service your child needs a place for active play, please know there is a nursery in the Chapel basement. Gathering Carillon Cello and Organ Prelude II. Cantiléne & III. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways to the glory of your name. Amen. The minister speaks words of assurance. *Peace (All exchange signs and words of God s peace.)
