This year s Primary theme is I Know My Savior Lives. Every week we have been learning more about our Savior and all that He has done for us. We are very excited to share with you some of the things that we have learned. And hope that we all can be more like Him. I m Trying to be like Jesus I m trying to be like Jesus. I m following in His way. I m trying to love as he did in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers: : Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught. I m trying to love my neighbor; I m learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons he taught. Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying: 1 st Article of Faith: We believe in God the Eternal Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost Heavenly Father sent us to earth. He sent us to live in families. I have people in my family. Even though we all have different families, we are all part of one big family God s family. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. I Know That My Savior Loves Me A long time ago in a beautiful place, Children were gathered round Jesus. He blessed and taught as they felt of His love. Each saw the tears on His face. The love that He felt for His little ones I know He feels for me. I did not touch Him or sit on His knee, Yet, Jesus is real to me. : I know He Lives! I will follow faithfully. My heart I give to Him. I know that my Savior loves me. Now I am here in a beautiful place,
Learning the teachings of Jesus. Parents and teachers will help guide the way, Lighting my path ev ry day. Wrapped in the arms of my Savior s love, I feel His gentle touch. Living each day, I will follow His way, Home to my Father above. Jesus Christ is My Savior and Redeemer John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. During the last week of Jesus life, He taught His disciples about the sacrament, then He suffered for all our pain, heartache, and sins. After that, He was betrayed by one of His disciples and friends. After being tortured and hung on a cross, He again suffered for our sins before dying. Our Lord and Savior did all of this so that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ all mankind may be saved. After all of His suffering, Jesus Christ was resurrected! And because of Him, I will be resurrected too!! He Sent His Son How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness? He sent His Son a new born babe, with peace and holiness. How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go? He sent His Son to walk with men on earth that we may know. How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice of death? He sent His Son to die for us, and rise with living breath. What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say? Have faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way. What does He ask? Live like His Son. Luke 1:70: He spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began. We have had many prophets in the past, like Moses, Lehi, and Joseph Smith. Today our living prophet is President Thomas S Monson. Our prophets are called of God and testify of Jesus Christ. We are living in the latter days. Heavenly Father speaks through the prophets. If we want to be safe and happy, we need to listen to our prophets. Follow the Prophet
Adam was a prophet, first one that we know. In a place called Eden, he helped things to grow. Adam served the Lord by following his ways. We are his descendants in the latter days. : Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, Follow the prophet, don t go astray. Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, Follow the prophet; he knows the way. Enoch was a prophet; he taught what was good. People in his city did just what they should. When they were so righteous that there was no sin, Heavn ly Father took them up to live with him. Now we have a world where people are confused. If you don t believe it, go and watch the news. We can get direction all along our way, If we heed the prophet follow what they say. 6 th Article of Faith: We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church namely apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth. Joseph Smith was confused. So he read the scriptures to find answers. One night he read James 1:5 If any of your lack wisdom, let him ask of God... This scripture was the answer he was looking for. He wanted to know the truth, so he went to the woods to pray. This is part of Joseph Smith s account of what happened while he was praying, I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him! The restoration of the Church that Jesus formed while He was on the earth, began with the First Vision. Joseph Smith also translated the Book of Mormon. Church of Jesus Christ I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know who I am. I know God s plan. I ll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I ll honor his name.
I ll do what is right; I ll follow his light. His truth I will proclaim. Girls song 4 th Article of Faith: We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. When you have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you want to be a better person. Faith Faith is knowing the sun will rise, lighting each new day. Faith is knowing the Lord will hear my prayers each time I pray. Faith is like a little seed: If planted, it will grow. Faith is a swelling within my heart. When I do right, I know. Boys song Repentance helps us to be better too. We can be happy knowing that our Heavenly Father loves us enough to forgive us for anything we may do wrong. After we repent, we can be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can help us to follow the Savior s teaching and do what is right. When I am Baptized I like to look for rainbows, whenever there is rain. And ponder on the beauty of the earth made clean again. : I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain. I want to be the best I can. And live with God again I know when I am baptized my wrongs are washed away. And I can be forgiven and improve myself each day. Moroni 10:5: By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all thing. Heavenly Father sends us the Holy Ghost so that we can know the truth of all things. When something is good and right, he will tell us in our minds and in our hearts. The Holy Ghost speaks to us in a still, small voice. We need to be reverent and listen in order to hear what Heavenly Father wants us to know. When we live worthy of the Holy Ghost, he can help guide us, protect us, and teach us the truth of all things. The Holy Ghost When Christ was on the earth,
He promised he would send The Holy Ghost to comfort us, Our true, eternal friend. The Holy Spirit whispers With a still small voice. He testifies of God and Christ And makes our hearts rejoice. And when we are confirmed By sacred priesthood pow r The Holy Ghost is giv n to us To guide us ev ry hour. Oh, may I always listen To that still small voice. And with his light I ll do what s right Each time I make a choice. Luke 18:22: Come, follow me Jesus Christ was obedient to our Father in Heaven. Even while He when it seemed really hard for Him in the Mount of Olives, He still continued because it was Heavenly Father s will. Jesus went around doing good to those around Him. He healed the sick, raised the dead, blessed the children, and fed 5,000. Come Follow Me Come, follow me, the Savior said. Then let us in his footsteps tread, For thus alone can we be one With God s own loved, begotten Son. Come, follow me, a simple phrase, Yet truth s sublime, effulgent rays Are in these simple words combined To urge, inspire the human mind. Muimui iate au I he hala kuo tofa, Teu manatu ki he Otua. I he ofa ongongofua Muimui iate au, E ha ngingila ange fau, Pea ha Ene folofola. Fa ahinga o e tangata.
Jesus is our perfect example of how to live. One of the greatest things He asked us to do is love one another. Love One Another As I have loved you Love one another. This new commandment: Love one another. By this shall men know Ye are my disciples, If ye have love One to another. 2 Nephi 27:23: For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles;... And I work not among the children's for men save it be according to their faith. Jesus Christ is a God of miracles and He has power over the earth. Miracles come to those who have faith. Jesus Christ can heal the sick and has power over death. We hope that we can each learn from our Savior s example and remember His perfect example as we go through our daily trials. He is our Lord and our Savior. And if we ask in faith, He will be by our side. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. A Child s Prayer Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child s prayer. Some say that heaven is far away, but I feel it close around me as I pray. Heavenly Father, I remember now, something that Jesus told disciples long ago, Suffer the children to come to me. Father in prayer I m coming now to thee. Pray, He is there. Speak, He is listening. You are His child. His love now surrounds you. He hears your prayers. He loves the children. Of such is the Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heav n.
