Booking is now open for the Winterval Express Train, Santa s Grotto, Waterford on Ice, Snowglobe, the Horse-Drawn Sleigh and the Exploration Dome. Being my home town I am proud to see how everyone in the city has come together to make such a magical Christmas Festival. With over 30 attractions many of them free, Waterford s Winterval Christmas festival is a must see this year. See horse drawn sleighs, a magical Christmas trail through the city, a vintage ferris wheel or a visit to Santa in the beautiful medieval museum. Waterford is so easy to get to these days with a drive time of 1 hour 30 minutes from Dublin, or why not take the train. Rotary Club Tree John Robert s Square Entry November 21 to December 23 For 17 years the Rotary Club of Waterford Memorial Christmas Tree has been central to Christmas in Waterford. Most have been touched by the wonderful work Waterford Hospice does in our community and Christmas is such an important and appropriate time to thank and reward them. The generosity of the public each year is astounding. It is that generosity that makes this appeal such a success every year. South Pole Enchanted Garden at New Street New Street Garden Visit the beautiful winter wonderland garden in the heart of Waterford city. Visit our enchanted garden and be enthralled by the decorative floral archways, giant candy cane sticks and atmospheric Christmas lighting as you walk around. Singing Christmas Tree Palace Square Palace Square An essential part of any Christmas festival has to be listening to a choir sing! So why not come along to hear some of Ireland s choirs sing as part of the Winterval Festival on the Singing Christmas Tree.

Municipal Gallery & Craft Workshops Greyfriars Church Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout festival, 12-6pm The Eye of a Child - is your child a Michaelangelo in the making? Get them to colour in, create and exhibit their own version of one of our famous artworks and bring it home. Waterford scenes by Terry Murphy, Waterford s famous Municipal Collection, a selection of faces and places by Annie Brophy & News, muse and views - a look at the topical and inspiring. Copies of all pictures on the first floor are for sale. Marvel Spiderman Exhibit Greyfriars Church Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout festival, 12-6pm Irish artist, Will Sliney, is enjoying swinging success as he draws the latest instalment in the iconic Spider-Man series for Marvel comics. This exhibition features new artwork from the new series, which tells the story of a Spider-Man of the future who has been thrown back in time to our present. Late Night Winterval Club Noc Noc, The Reg, The Mall, Waterford Thursday and Sunday: Free Friday and Saturday: 5.00 from 10pm till late. Noc Noc @ The Reg are hosting the Late Night Winterval Club every night of Winterval from 10pm till late. Enjoy the best local and regional bands such as Thank Funk, No Hot ashes, The Usual Suspects and Newfoundland play till late along with our resident DJ Shay Searson. With 6 bars under one roof, a festive fun night is guaranteed. Yule Viking Settlement New Street 12-4pm daily Fadó have recreated a vibrant Viking settlement filled with the sights and sounds (and some of the smells!) of authentic Viking life. How to get to Winterval BY CAR: From Dublin, take the N7 and exit for the M9 all the way to Waterford. Travel time 1 hour 30 mins. BY TRAIN: Please see below details of how to get to Winterval by train. Our train station is only 5 minutes walk away from the festival. BY BUS: There are frequent bus services to Waterford City Centre. Visit Buseireann.ie or JJKavanagh.ie BY AIR: Waterford Airport is only 20 minutes from the city centre and services Birmingham direct with Flybe and additional onward connection destinations. BY SEA: The ferry ports of Cork, Rosslare, Dun Laoghaire, and Dublin are within easy travel distances to Waterford City. FROM DUBLIN: Trains for Winterval Waterford will depart form Heuston station Dublin. The train journey takes just over 2 hours. Please see www.irishrail.ie for traintimes. WINTERVAL SPECIAL SERVICE: A special Winterval carriage service departs Heuston Station at 10.15 am every Saturday morning and returns at 18.20hrs. A special car parking rate of 5 is available when booking a winterval train package. Please visit our bookings pages on www.winterval.ie FROM CLONMEL / CARRICK ON SUIR: Winterval Waterford is easily accessible from Clonmel and Carrick on Suir Stations. A special late train will operate departing Waterford at 20.40PM on Friday and Saturday evenings from the 28th of November to Saturday 20th December. Additional Services will run between Waterford & Clonmel/Carrick on Suir during the festival.
