11.00am BAND DYNAMICS Matt Soong The dynamics produced by a band are about different factors working well together to help worship flow. Come and gain a better understanding of what these factors are and how to put them together in a practical way. TEAM DYNAMICS Tim Costley Worship teams can become a sausage machine just churning out songs for Sunday. Come and take a fresh look at how we operate as a team, how we can grow together, and glean a few tips on how to keep it fun, real, and improving. 11.45am ARRANGEMENTS Tim Costley and Matt Soong This interactive elective will look at how to arrange a song with the instrumentation you have. We ll take the time to look at how this is done with big and small group examples. THEOLOGY & WORSHIP Andrew Warnock In conversation with a foreign woman at a well, Jesus explained that a time has now come when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father desires. What is a true worshipper? What does in spirit and in truth mean? Are we the kind of worshippers the Father desires? Come and explore the biblical dimensions of worship. LUNCH OPTIONS Head to the street and find a local cafe to suit your tastes, including Joseph Street Kitchen, a mere 3 minute walk away or our cafe district found in George Street. Want more? There s foodhall style cuisine in The Plaza, a New World through the park across the road (veer left if you re walking) or stay in and have a hot drink on us if you brought your own.
2.15pm PRACTICE Rachel Dann We all go to practices but are we getting much out of them or just going through the motions? Join Rachel for ideas on how to maximise practice times and how to make them effective and fun. NEW SONGS & RESOURCES Sam Couper Take time out to discuss what songs are all the rage, how to introduce new songs to your band and church, helpful tips for selecting songs to use and where we can find them. CREATIVITY IN WORSHIP Tim Costley Worship should engage all our senses, even (dare we say) smell and taste! Come and look at different ways we can engage congregations in worship. Bring your ideas and experiences, and listen to those of others. 2.50pm PRACTICE Repeated NUTS & BOLTS Steve Papworth This elective is all about the practical aspects of managing a worship ministry on a weekly basis. We ll look into auditions, band structure, building a leadership team, repertoire, mentoring, and how to cope with shortages of particular skill sets. Come willing to share ideas and discuss how you manage these challenges. CREATIVITY IN WORSHIP Repeated 3.40pm NEW SONGS & RESOURCES Repeated NUTS & BOLTS Repeated
