In the new Mennonite Church Canada structure 13 representatives, some from each regional church, MC Eastern Canada (MCEC), MC Manitoba, MC Saskatchewan, MC Alberta, MC British Columbia, will be forming the new Joint Council. Each region will be able to bring its own agenda to Joint Council meetings to discuss how we can set goals together for the Mennonite Church on a national level. MCEC has requested that Pastor Alicia be appointed to represent MCEC on the new Joint Council. This means she will be attending meetings for MC Canada about three or four times a year in other provinces. This is an opportunity for NLUMC to have its voice represented at a national level, and to become more aware and informed about how our congregation is part of a larger network of churches across Canada.
