Feel free to use any of the songs or finger plays in the program or make up some of your own. The Memory Verse songs are included in this quarterly to enable your child to learn the Memory Verse more easily. Please remember to pray with your child every day.

Bible Story #1 Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 1:1-23 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 33 51 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 1 pp. 13-34 Jesus Makes the World It was dark, oh, so very dark. There were no birds or, flowers. There were no little boys or little girls. In fact. there was nothing at all. God and Jesus looked down from heaven. They wanted a bright and pretty world. So God and Jesus planned to make a brand new world. Then God said to Jesus, We ve made the plans; now it s time for YOU to make it. Jesus looked around and there was nothing to see. Jesus said Come, beautiful light. Right then the light came and the dark went away. Jesus made the dark for the night, and light for the day, dark for sleepy time, and light for play time. He made the light because He loves you. Nighttime and daytime were the first day. Jesus looked all around. He saw there was no sky or air. There was no place for the

birds to fly. So Jesus said, Come, pretty blue sky. Come soft wind and warm air. Right then there was blue sky and a warm soft wind. Now there was a nice sky for the clouds to go by. Now there was air to breathe. Jesus made the sky and warm air because He loves you. Nighttime and daytime, and it was the second day. Jesus looked around again. He saw there was no land no place for trees or flowers to grow. All He could see was lots and lots of water. Jesus said Come dry land, come trees and pretty flowers. Right then the land was covered with tall trees and green grass. There were lots of beautiful flowers. There were red flowers and yellow flowers. The flowers smelled wonderful. Jesus made the beautiful plants because He loves you. Nighttime and daytime and it was the third day. Jesus looked up in the sky, and there was nothing to see. So, Jesus said, Come bright sun, come pretty moon, and twinkle little stars. Right then, just as Jesus said, the Memory Verse God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 A Thought For You Each time a new baby is born, God s creation is manifested. Remember each child is a gift from God. It is a awesome responsibility.

sun, moon and stars were there. The night was not so dark with the pretty moon, and many twinkling stars. The day was bright with the warm sunlight to help the trees and flowers grow. Jesus made the sun, moon, and stars because He loves you. Nighttime and daytime, and it was the fourth day. Jesus looked around at the beautiful world, but there were no pretty birds to fly in the sky. So Jesus said Come pretty birds. Right then there were birds in the sky. Red birds, yellow birds, and blue birds. There were big birds and little birds. They could make nests in the tall trees. Jesus made them all because He loves you. Then, He looked at the waters and there were no fish swimming there, or any other animals. So Jesus said, Come pretty fish. Right then there were big fish and little fish. There were shells and star fish. There were many living things in the water. Jesus made all the ocean animals because He loves you. Nighttime and daytime and it was the fifth day. Creation week was not done yet, but already Jesus had made light on the first day, sky on the second day, dry land and plants on the third day, the sun, moon and stars on the fourth day, and birds and fish on the fifth day. In the next lesson we will finish the story of creation. Remember that God created the heavens and the earth.

Bible Story #2 Jesus Finishes the World Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 1:24-2:25 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 33-51 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 1 pp. 35-60 Jesus had already made light on the first day, sky on the second day, dry land and plants on the third day, the sun, moon and stars on the fourth day, and birds and fish on the fifth day. Jesus looked all around. The beautiful world had birds in the sky and fish in the sea, but there were no animals on the land. So Jesus said, Come big animals, come little animals. Right then there were animals everywhere. There were black doggies barking and jumping. There were white kitties purring. Bunny rabbits were hopping on the green grass. There were cows and horses, sheep and goats. There were great roaring lions, and furry bears. There were tall giraffes and big gray ele-

phants. There were monkeys swinging in the trees, and squirrels scampering on the branches. Jesus made all the animals because He loves you. Now Jesus looked at the beautiful world He had made. There were fluffy white clouds and blue sky. There were flowers, grass, and trees. There were birds and fishes. There were lots of big and little animals. Jesus liked everything He made, but there were no people. There were no boys and girls to run and play. There were no mommies and daddies to take care of them. So Jesus said, I will make man who will look like me. Jesus took some dirt and made it into mud. He made a head and then a neck and a body from the mud. He made two arms and then two legs. Then Jesus breathed into the man s nose and made him live. The man s name was Adam. Adam looked at the world that Jesus made for him and he was very happy. He liked the clouds and flowers. He liked the birds and fishes. Memory Verse Remember the Sabbath day. Exodus 20:8 A Thought For You Young children will learn respect for the Sabbath by your example. Be careful never to do anything to lead your child into breaking the Sabbath.

He liked all the wonderful animals. But Adam was lonely. There was no one like him. So Jesus made Eve, so Adam wouldn t be alone. Adam and Eve were very happy in the new world. Nighttime and daytime, and it was the sixth day. The next day Jesus did not work. He did not make anything more for the world. The beautiful world was finished. Jesus gave that day a special name. He called it the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a special day a day to forget about all our work and remember that Jesus is our creator. Jesus wants us to set aside that day to spend with Him. Sabbath is a day to go to Sabbath school, a day to go to church, a day to wear our best clothes, and a day to be reverent. Sabbath is a day to take a walk and see all the beautiful things that Jesus made for us, and a day to read the Bible. Sabbath is a day when mommy and daddy don t have to go to work, or shopping, a day when mommy and daddy don t have to clean house or do laundry. It is a special day of rest. It is a special family day. Jesus made the Sabbath because He loves you. Jesus wants us to Remember the Sabbath day. Nighttime and daytime and it was the seventh day the Sabbath day.

Bible Story #3 Adam and Eve Disobey Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 3:1-24 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 52-70 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 1 pp. 61-77 Adam and Eve were the first man and woman. They were the only people on earth! Jesus had just finished making the world. Adam and Eve lived in the beautiful garden Jesus had made. God said to Adam and Eve, You may eat anything in the garden apples or pears, grapes or bananas, the nuts or anything else that seems good to eat but there is one thing YOU MUST NOT EAT! You may go anywhere you want in the garden down by the river or over by the lake, through the path in the wood or on the grassy little hill but there is one place YOU MUST NOT GO! Do you see that big tree over there in the middle of the garden? That is a very special tree. If you love Me, you will do what I say. Something terrible will happen to you if you go near that special tree or eat the fruit from

it. Of course Adam and Eve said to God, We will never go near that special tree. We will never eat the fruit from that tree. You can be sure we will do just what You want us to do. We will always obey You because we love You. Every day Adam and Eve worked in the beautiful garden. They walked down the pretty pathways. They looked at the red and yellow flowers. They played with the animals and took care of the plants. Adam and Eve were very happy in their garden home. They never got cross with each other, and they never said unkind words. All the animals were kind and loving too. None of the animals were mean. They didn t bite or hurt anyone. Everyone was happy in the beautiful garden. Then one day Eve went off for a walk by herself, and she walked by the special tree. She knew she shouldn t stay by the special tree, but she stayed anyway. Right there in the big tree she saw a big, big snake. It was very pretty, and it could Memory Verse Obey my voice and I will be your God. talk! Do you know who was really talking? It was Satan! Do you know what the snake said? That big snake said, Eve, why don t you eat some of this good fruit? It won t hurt you! See, I m eating it and nothing has happened to me. God won t know if you eat this fruit. Do you know what Eve did? She reached out her hand and took the fruit from the special tree. She ate it and it tasted good. She took some of the fruit to Adam, and he ate some too. Then Adam and Eve didn't feel happy anymore. They had disobeyed. God said to Adam and Eve, I am very sorry you disobeyed. Now you cannot live in the beautiful garden anymore. The animals will be afraid of you now and the plants will die. The leaves will turn brown and fall off the trees. Weeds will grow in the garden and you will get sick sometime. God still loved Adam and Eve, and took care of them every day. He made a plan so that they could live in the beautiful garden again someday. God says, Obey my voice, and I will be our God. But sometimes Satan says, Do something bad, and you listen to Satan, just like Eve did. Sometimes you disobey Mommy or Daddy. It makes Jesus sad when you disobey. It makes Mommy and Daddy sad when you disobey. But Jesus and Mommy and Daddy still love you. Will you try to obey Mommy and Daddy and Jesus? Do you love Mommy and Daddy and Jesus? That will make Jesus happy! That will make Mommy and Daddy happy!

Memory Verse Song Note to Parent: Since we will only be singing this song two weeks in Sabbath School, please spend some time during the week helping your child. Music is one of the best ways to facilitate memorization.

Bible Story #4 God Takes Care of Noah Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 6:1-9:17 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 90-116 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 1 pp. 101-123 Bang, bang, bang! Chop, chop, chop! Noah was building a boat, a great big boat. Day after day Noah worked on the boat. Day after day Noah s three sons worked on the boat, too. Day after day Noah hired lots of builders to work on the boat. Almost all the people in the world were bad. They did not love God anymore. They only wanted to do bad things. Noah and his family were the only people who loved God. It was God who told Noah to build the big boat, called an ark. It took a long time to build the big boat. Noah was very happy when the ark was all done! Noah said to all the people, Please come into the ark. Everything is ready, all the food is there. Soon it will rain.

It will rain for many days. The water will get higher and higher. The water will cover up everything the grass and flowers, the houses and trees, and even the mountains. The water will cover up everything in the world. Please come into the ark. Then you will be safe from the big flood of water! But the people just laughed. Ha, Ha, Ha! they said. What is rain? We have never seen rain before. It was true, it had never rained before. Water had never come down from the sky. The people just laughed. They did not come into the ark. But the animals did. It looked like they were walking all by themselves, but an angel was leading them. The cows and horses came. The dogs and cats came. The elephants and lions came. The squirrels and rabbits came. Two of every kind of animals and seven of some kinds. Then Noah and his family went into the ark. Noah and his wife went in. Noah s three sons and- Memory Verse The Lord helps them and saves them. their wives went in. Only eight people went in. All the other people just laughed. They would not go in. Then the angel shut the door. After seven days it began to rain. Splash, splash came the raindrops! Soon there were raindrops everywhere. It rained all day and all night. It rained for 40 days. The rain covered everything in the world. But Noah and his family were safe. The ark was just like a big boat. It floated on the water. The angels took care of the ark. Noah and his family took care of all the animals. Noah and the animals were safe in the ark. After it stopped raining Noah and his family had to wait a long time for the water to go down. Then one day all the water was gone. Now it was time to go out. They were so happy when the angel opened the door! They went running outside. The animals were so happy to be outdoors again! The first thing Noah did was kneel down to pray. Everyone prayed a thank-you prayer to God. They were happy to be out of the ark! They were so happy the water was all gone. Noah and his family looked up in the sky. There they saw a beautiful rainbow, the very first rainbow. The rainbow is a promise that God will take care of you. When you look at the rainbow, remember God s promise. Remember, too, that He will take care of you. The Bible says, The Lord helps them and saves them. Yes, God will take care of you, just as He took care of Noah and his family

Bible Story #5 Rebekah Helps a Tired Man Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 24:1:66 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 171-173 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 1 pp. 177-186 Rebekah was a very pretty girl. She liked to smile at everyone. Rebekah was very kind, too. She liked to do nice things for people. She helped her mother dry the dishes, and she helped her father too. Everyone loved Rebekah because she was so kind and happy all the time. Rebekah s father has many animals cows, and sheep and camels. All during the day the animals ate grass from the field. At nighttime the animals came back to the barnyard. Then Rebekah has to get water for the animals to drink. There wasn t any faucet with running water. The well was a big, big hole in the ground with water down near the bottom. First, Rebekah tied a rope onto a pail, and then she dropped it into

the well. Down, down, down it went until it splashed into the water. Then Rebekah pulled on the rope to bring the pail of water back to the top of the will. After that, she carried the pail of water to the tank where the animals got their drink. Many, many times Rebekah carried pails of water for the animals. It took a long time to get enough water for all the animals. Rebekah got very tired, but she smiled and sang a happy little song. She was always happy and smiling. One day when Rebekah went to the well to get water, there was a man standing by the well. He looked tired and hot and dusty. She had never seen him before, but he looked like a kind man. Rebekah smiled at him. The man had ten camels. They looked hot and tired and dusty too. Maybe the man had been on a long trip. Pretty soon the man said, Please let me drink just a little water from your jug. Of course, take a drink, Rebekah said to him. Then Re- Memory Verse Be kind... to one another. Rebekah walked back and forth from the will to the tank carrying water for the camels. She got very tired, but she kept on smiling and singing a happy song. At last the camels stopped drinking. What Rebekah didn t know was this man was sent to find a kind young girl to the wife of his master s son. The man had asked God to give him a sign of which young girl it was to be by her kindness. The man was so happy that Rebekah had been kind to him that he gave her presents. Then Rebekah said the tired man could come stay at her house. Rebekah s family were very happy to meet this man, and they were glad that Rebekah had been so kind. Jesus said, Be kind... to one another. He wants you to be kind to everyone you know. Jesus is happy when you are kind to Mommy and Daddy and your brothers and sisters. When you help Mommy or Daddy you are being kind. When you share with your brother or sister you are being kind. When you bring Grandma a flower you are being kind. Best of all, Jesus is happy when you are kind. What can you do to be kind to your family today?

Bible Story #6 Joseph s Beautiful Coat Enrichment Bible Reference Genesis 37:1-36 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 209-223 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 2 pp. 42-47 Joseph loved his daddy very much. Joseph wanted to go everywhere his daddy went. Joseph did everything his daddy asked him to do. Joseph s mother died when he was very young. Joseph missed his mother very much, but he was so happy his daddy loved him. Joseph lived in a tent with his daddy and his brothers. Joseph had many brothers. There were 12 of them altogether. They were all bigger than he, except one. He had a little brother called Benjamin. Their father, Jacob, loved his boys very much. Jacob had many sheep, It was hard work to take care of the sheep. The sheep had to have food and water every day. When it was cold, they needed to be kept warm. When it was hot, Joseph s father, Jacob, and older brothers cut off

their wool so they would be cool. The sheep had to be watched all the time. Sometimes his older brothers would take the sheep far away where there was fresh grass. At bedtime, Jacob told him stories about God. Jacob told him stories about animals. Jacob told him stories about his great-grandfather Abraham, and his grandfather Isaac and how God lead them. They were a very special family. God had promised Abraham that Jesus would be born in their family. Joseph was growing bigger all the time. Joseph obeyed father Jacob. Joseph loved his daddy more every day. Joseph s daddy loved him very much. One day Jacob made him a beautiful coat. It had pretty, bright colors. It had red and green stripes. It had yellow and purple stripes. It had blue and orange stripes. It was a very beautiful coat. Joseph s daddy, Jacob, made it for him because he loved him very much. The coat was warm. Memory Verse Children obey your parents. Ephesians 6:1 A Thought For You Make sure to treat all your children fairly, as to not foster the jealousy that Jacob did.

Joseph was very happy with his new coat. Thank you, thank you for the beautiful new coat, he said. I love the pretty colors in the coat. Every day Joseph tried to obey his daddy. When his daddy asked him to do something, he ran quickly to obey. God says, Children, obey your parents. Joseph tried to help his daddy too. Every day Joseph did what his daddy asked him. One day father Jacob asked Joseph to go check on his brothers and the sheep in a far away field. Jacob wanted to know if everything was alright. Jacob didn t have a cell phone to check on the older boys. So Joseph went willingly as his father said. When he found his bothers, they were jealous of his new coat. They thought, Father likes Joseph best because he got a new coat. They decided if Joseph wasn t around Jacob would like them better. They plotted to get rid of Joseph, and gave him to some travelers that were going to Egypt. The older brothers were very naughty. They did not do what their father wanted. But God took care of Joseph in Egypt, and one day he got to see his father and his brothers again. Jesus is very happy when we obey our parents. Jesus is very happy when we are kind to our brothers and sisters. Jesus is very sad when we disobey. Like Joseph, always remember, Children obey your parents.

She was as happy as could be. Even though little brother Aaron was too little to skip, he was as happy as could be. There was a new baby in their house a darling little baby brother. We must keep him a secret. The king does not want baby boys. He will hurt all the baby boys. He will hurt our baby too, if anyone finds out he is here. We must pray to Jesus to take care of him, said Mother. Oh, dear! Oh, dear! How terrible, said Miriam. God will take care of our baby brother. I m sure He won t let our baby be hurt. Miriam helped Mother with baby Moses. Miriam

played quietly with him so he wouldn t cry. She helped Mother bathe Baby Moses. If Baby Moses got fussy, she would rock him so he wouldn t cry. Even little Aaron helped with the baby. Every day Baby Moses grew bigger and bigger. Every day it was harder and harder to keep him quiet. Every day the family prayed for God to take care of their baby. One day Mother said, Our baby is too big to hide anymore. I m afraid the king will send someone to kill our baby. We must pray to God. The Bible says God is our...help in trouble. We must pray that God will show us what to do with Baby Moses. Everyone in the family prayed. Father prayed, then Mother prayed. Miriam prayed and Aaron prayed. They all prayed for God to help them take care of Baby Moses. Soon Mother started to make a little basket. It was just the right size for Baby Moses. Everyone in the family prayed again. Father prayed, then Mother prayed. Miriam prayed and Aaron prayed. They all prayed for Jesus to take care of Baby Moses in his basket boat. Please find someone to take care of the baby for me. answered the princes. Quickly, Miriam ran to find Mother. Quickly, Mother ran back to the river. The beautiful princess said, Please take care of this baby for me. When he is bigger, I will take him to live at my house. I will pay you for taking care of the baby for me. Mother and Miriam took Baby Moses home. They were so happy! They didn t have to hide the baby from the king anymore. They were so happy that God is our help in trouble.

Bible Story #8 Enrichment Bible Reference 1 Samuel 1:1 2:21 For the Parent: Patriarchs and Prophets pp. 569-574 For the Child The Bible Story Volume 3 pp. 145-148 Jesus Give Hannah a Baby Hannah was very, very sad. Elkanah, her husband, tried to make her happy. But no one could make her happy because Hannah wanted a baby, and she did not have one. Only a baby could make Hannah happy. Every day Hannah prayed for a baby, but no baby came to her house. Hannah prayed for a long, long time. She wanted a baby more than anything else. She promised Jesus that her baby would grow up and work for Him in His Church, if she could have one. Then one day Samuel was born! He was a sweet and happy baby. Hannah was so happy! Hannah loved to take care of Baby Samuel. She made a nice warm bed for him. When Samuel was very tiny, he slept almost all day, just like you did when you were a baby. Samuel would wake up for a drink milk

or water. Mother Hannah washed his face and gave him a bath. Samuel grew and grew. Pretty soon he was a big baby! Now he didn't sleep all day. He could sit up and play with his toys. He could say "Da-da." He could smile and laugh when he was very happy. Now Baby Samuel could eat cereal and fruit. Baby Samuel grew and grew some more. Now he could stand by himself. Soon he could walk by himself. Now he could eat some food by himself. Hannah took good care of Baby Samuel. Every day she made good food for him to eat. She washed his clothes. Every day she told Baby Samuel stories about Jesus and all the beautiful things Jesus made. She taught Samuel how to pray. Every day they prayed to Jesus. Baby Samuel grew and grew some more. Now he wasn't a baby anymore! He could walk and run everywhere. He could eat his food by himself. He could pray. He was getting bigger every day. Every day Sam- Memory Verse For this child I prayed. uel's mother told him stories from the Bible. Every day they went for a long walk to see the pretty flowers and birds Jesus made. One day Samuel had a birthday. He wasn't a baby anymore! Now it was time for Samuel to go to live at the Temple-Church. Samuel's mother would miss her big boy very, very much. But Samuel was a very special boy a special baby Jesus had sent to Hannah and Elkanah. And they had promised Jesus that this special baby would work in the Temple-Church. Hannah made Samuel a new little coat. They packed all his clothes and went to the Temple-Church. When they got to the Temple-Church, they went to see Eli, the priest. Hannah said to Eli, "Here is Samuel. Remember, I prayed for him so now I want him to be a special worker for God." And so Samuel stayed with Eli. Each year Samuel grew and grew. The coat his mother made him was too small. The next time his mother came to visit, she brought him a nice new coat! Hannah was so happy her special baby was growing up to be a helper for God. And do you know what? God sent Hannah another baby so she would not be lonesome when Samuel was gone. After a while Samuel had three brothers and two sisters. What a lovely big family! God gave you a mommy to love and take care of you, just like Hannah took care of Samuel. Your mommy does many things for you every day she makes food for you to eat, she washes your clothes, she makes your hurts all better, she plays with you, she hugs you, and she reads Bible stories to you. Do you love your mommy? Aren't you happy God gave you such a good mommy? Can you tell her you love her? You could hug her and whisper in her ear that you love her.
