CG: Welcome Slide Worship What You Need: Paperclip Memory Verse Card in your Bible at Ephesians 2:10. HISTORYTELLER: Yay! I m so glad to see you today! It s so much fun to sing with you. We re learning all about our mighty and awesome God who made us to do amazing things even when we re still kids. Who can do what God wants you to do? HISTORYTELLER: Great job! Let s sing this month s song about that. SFX: I Can Do (What God Wants) Great singing, my friends. Remember, I can do what God wants me to do. Who can do what God wants you to do? HISTORYTELLER: Exactly. [Bottom Line] I can do what God wants me to do. It s time to practice our memory verse. Are you ready? 1

CHILDREN and HISTORYTELLER: God made (point both hands up) us to do (point to self and others) good works (thumbs up), Ephesians 2:10. (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat several times.) HISTORYTELLER: You are all AMAZING at that verse! Have you shown your parents yet? How about your brother and sister? How about all your good friends? Make sure you show them today! Are you ready to sing another song with me? (Pause.) You are? Let s sing about how you rock! SFX: Kids Rock Yes! Kids Rock! Now remind me: Who can do what God wants you to do? HISTORYTELLER: You got it! Hey, let s visit Ollie and our friends in the Clubhouse. Introductory Sketch CG: Intro Sketch Video Bible History Lesson What You Need: A backpack with a plastic crown, a soccer ball, and a Bible inside HISTORYTELLER: So, Today I have an amazing TRUTH to tell you from the Bible. Today s Bible Truth is about a kid named Josiah who was eight years old. Now, what do most boys do when they re eight? They (put on the backpack) go to school. And they (grab the soccer ball out of the bag) play things like soccer and video games. Eight-year-olds go to birthday parties at trampoline places. But not Josiah. You see, when Josiah was eight years old, God made him (set the soccer ball on the floor, open backpack, and take out crown, place it on your head) a KING! Can you even believe it? An eight-year-old boy was KING! God knows that KIDS ROCK and God made Josiah a good king. Now when you re king, you can go anywhere you want. (Walk to one side of the stage.) You re the boss. 2

You can have all the toys, all the snacks, and all the teddy bears. (Walk back to the other side of the stage.) But Josiah, well, he didn t want those things. He just wanted to follow God. He knew to do what God wanted him to do. Even though he was a kid, he did good things for the people. He tore down all the bad statues and rebuilt the giant temple where people went to honor God. And (hold up your Bible) he read the Bible, God s Word, and promised to do everything God wanted him to do. And it all started when he was a kid. Josiah was just eight when he became king a GOOD king. Raise your hand if you re a kid. (Pause.) So, if Josiah could follow God and do what God wanted him to do, do you think you can too? (Pause.) YES! You can, because why? Because Kids ROCK! Who can do what God wants you to do? CHILDREN: [Bottom Line] I can do what God wants me to do! HISTORYTELLER: Josiah was a kid, but he did what was right, and I know you can too. Exit Sketch CG: Exit Sketch Video Offering and Prayer SFX: How Great is our God? Music Plays as the offering container is passed around Bring volume down to signify prayer time. HISTORYTELLER: Let s pray. Dear God, thank You for Josiah and all the awesome ways he showed that he loved You by doing the right thing. Even though he was only eight years old, he did what You wanted him to do. Help us to do what you ve asked us to do too. It doesn t matter if we re three or four or five, we can do what You want us to do with Your help. In Jesus name we pray, amen. Dismiss Well, that s it for today. Have fun and I ll see you next time. Bye! 3
