Simply put he was saying to them It s time to grow up. Because you are Precious in the Eyes of God He wants you to grow up too. It s time to set aside the foolishness of childhood and grow into mature daughters of God. Take a moment to pray before you start digging into your homework this week. A key word in this fourteenth chapter of 1 Corinthians is edification which means building up. The gifts were to be used to build up the church not to cause disorder and confusion. Unfortunately, the believers in Corinth were exercising their gifts in the church assembly without restraint so Paul stepped in to remedy this problem with some fundamental instructions.
