why INDIA The nation of India is at the forefront of an age of fast-paced technological advances, global communications, and emerging economies. This diverse and complex country offers almost overwhelming challenges to the gospel of Jesus Christ and yet the Spirit of God is moving across India with great power. Operation World reports that 70% of India s population of 1.2 billion people is under age 35 and will shape India s future. This new generation is open to new ideas, not held so tightly by the bondage of caste or religion. In the more remote parts of the country, tribal groups of India s poor continue to live in desperate conditions, with no knowledge of the One who loves them and created them for fellowship with Him. Thousands pass into eternity each day, having known only suffering and struggle. Doors are open, hearts are needy and ready, the Spirit is able. The Power of God s Word From all over India reports come of the miraculous change in people and villages once the Word of God is present. God s Word is alive, active, and powerful. God s Word accomplishes His purposes! At first there was only one church and then by giving out [Scripture] booklets we have conquered one more place for Christ. We need booklets to save nearby villagers for Christ. People receive the booklets happily and read them. You will surely see thousands and thousands of Indians in heaven because of your booklets sent to India with much prayer and fasting.
Now is the hour to reach this new generation and India for Christ. We have no promise of another time. No promise of later or tomorrow. Now God has put in place several major ministry partners in India who are ready with energized and committed workers to go into each of the 500,000 villages of India that do not yet have a Bible-believing church. Even as the Church is exploding in India, persecution intensifies. Anti-conversion laws, radical Hindu elements, and those who would see their personal power and influence wane as the Spirit of Christ rules in hearts, all press against the spread of the gospel. Gospel workers go out every day and meet these challenges, confident of victory through Christ. The battle rages Now. We must help them Now. If we expect a harvest of souls in India, we must provide the seed for planting. The need is Now. why NOW I F GOD WERE TO GIVE me miraculous, superhuman strength to go to every family on earth and preach for an hour about Jesus, or if, on the other hand, He permitted me to take a clear, printed message of salvation to every family on earth, there is no question I would choose the latter. If I were to preach an hour to every family, there is no doubt that some days I d probably not do the best job, and many families might not understand my message the first time through. But anointed literature has no bad days. It can stay for months or years, speaking over and over until the Holy Spirit penetrates the heart of the reader.
