Volume 1, Issue 2 Page 2 IF WE WOULD ONLY TRUST HIM The more we step out in faith on GOD S Word, the temptations of returning back to our old schedule grows weaker and weaker. As we get more of GOD S truth in us, the HOLY SPIRIT strengthens us and gives us the discernment to know and test other sprits, so that we are not so easily misled by others. As we trust GOD more and HIS plans for our lives, we will begin to see opportunities instead of failures, as a matter of fact, our failure will become stepping stones into the thrown room of GOD. We will never get where GOD is trying to take us if we don t begin to trust in HIM. HE knows what s best for not just us, but the people HE puts around us, and those HE puts in our lives. The enemy (the devil) wants us to see the temptations so we can feel the pressure and therefore think that we are failures, but if we just put our trust in the LORD we will see the truth prevail. Remember, JESUS death on the cross was not only for the sins of man, but also to defeat death which gives us a pathway back into the grace and love of GOD. The enemy (the devil) was rendered powerless, and spiritual death (which is eternal) was given back to us to decide where we wanted to spend eternity. To coin a old phase, Now You Have A Choice! Volume 1, Issue 2 Page 3 The LORD continues to give Love And Compassion Ministries opportunities to minister to people of all faiths, Christians and non-christians alike. We pray that the LORD will speak to the hearts of the people through articles like this one from Rev. Jansen. ARMOR OF GOD Ephesians 6:10-18 10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Paul tells us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Read Zechariah 4:6 11. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. In other words, your problem is not human, it is demonic. 13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; The belt of truth Truth is your identity in Christ - the power of the Holy Spirit in you, the authority of the believer. Luke 10:17-19; Mark 16:17 Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John 14:6 We must always speak the truth. John 8:44 To lie is to remove your armor. Truth. Satan is a defeated foe. Determine to be truthful regardless of the result. Never deceive, dominate, manipulate, intimidate, these are witchcraft. Breastplate of righteousness Born again believer, You have put on the righteousness of Christ. 15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; We must be at peace with all persons - no unforgiveness toward anyone. Ephesians 4:31; Hebrews 12:15; Matthew 6:14-15 Read them all. 16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. Notice Paul says, above all taking the shield of faith. This is the most important piece of armor. You cannot be saved without faith. John 3:36; Ephesians 2:8-10. You cannot please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6 You cannot pray without faith. James 1:6; Mark 11:23-24 You cannot have peace with God without faith. Romans 5:1 You are justified by faith, not by works. Galatians 2:16 You are to live by faith. Ephesians 3:17; Romans 1:17 You are made righteous by faith. Romans 3:22 Christ dwells in your heart by faith. Ephesians 3:17 The Holy Spirit is received by faith. Galatians 3:2 Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Romans 14:23 Faith is important. Faith honors God. God honors faith. 17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: The battleground is your mind. That is where the enemy attacks the believer. We must keep a pure mind, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. II Corinthians 10:3-5; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:23-29 Read them all. Do you give place to the devil. Romans 12:1-2 Read Revelation 12:11 They over came him (satan) by the Blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives unto death. (Continued on page 4)

Your weapons are: The Name of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus. The Word of God. 18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints; Pray in the spirit. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. You must submit to God before you can resist. You must resist! Not quietly vocally tell him (satan) in the Name of Jesus and by His shed Blood to go. Unfortunately he s the trendsetter in our church! Many only hope they are saved. B. God wants us to know (1 John 5:l3). This knowledge is basis of gratitude and motivation. I John 3:19 C. God offers 5 tests that are written so you can know... I. You can t even trust your conscience. It may condemn us falsely. I John 3:20-21 2. Trust what God has said. We believe others - I John 5:9 Take God s written guarantee I John 5:13 D. Test yourself with the... I. RELATIONSHIP TEST I John 1:3-2:2-3:6 Have you found a remedy for your sin problem that comes between you and God? A. God wants fellowship with us vs. 3. Not mere religion, but a personal relationship. B. The problem is that sin breaks fellowship. 1. God is holy - vs. 5. This is the central message of the Bible. 2. Any lesser standard is a lie - vs. 6-7a. C. Our fellowship is already broken - vs. 8-10. False religions lower the standard and make God a liar -vs. 10. D. Fellowship is restored by cleansing - vs. 7b, 9. 1. Cleansing only by the blood of a substitute. vs. 7b; 2:2. Test yourself: Have you asked for cleansing? Was there a time when you asked for cleansing and entered into a new relationship with God as a blood-washed sinner? Initially - for salvation? Daily - for joy? Momentarily - for victory and power? This should lead to some fruits - or evidences - in our lives. II. LOVE TEST I John 2:9-11; 3:14, 18. Do you have a growing love for other Christians? A. We can choose friends but must accept family. B. All Christian brothers not easy to like. Must love as a choice, not a feeling. Ah, to live above with the saints I love, That will be glory; But to live below with the ones I know Well that s another story. C. Love must show itself in word and deed I John. 3:18. D. Brotherly love must be worked on constantly. Matthew 18:15-20. Test yourself: Do you have a growing affinity for the people of God? (That s a good sign!) III SEPARATION TEST I John 2:15-17 Do you try to live separate from the evil motives of the world s system? A. We are in the world but not of the world. World is the system, not the planet. O.K. for boat to be in the water. Dangerous when water gets into the boat! B. Christians are to be separate from the system - vs.15a. C. Worldliness defined as lust inordinate desire for: please-you-ers visible material things, pride-builders status. 1. Aren t these the motives of the man of the world? 2. Hard, because nothing evil of itself. Things can be tools or idols. 3. Like eclipse of moon when world comes between it and sun. Is anything of this world eclipsing the Son of God in your life? 4. Takes constant refocusing and renewing the mind. Test yourself: Are you uncomfortable, whenever worldly things eclipse the Lord in your life? (That s a good sign!) IV. SIN TEST I John 3:6 Do you have a changed attitude toward sin? A. Christians can still sin and do I John 1:8 But they can t ever enjoy it anymore. Can sin as much as I want...but don t want to anymore. B. But Christians will not go on sinning or practice sin - 3:6 C. Peter explains our revulsion toward sin as part of our receiving a new nature II Peter 2:22. 1. Dogs have taste for vomit. Unregenerate have taste for sin. 2. Pigs thrive in mud. Christians can slip in mud, but they want out for a bath. 3. Church members who head for sin are not born again. Test yourself: Are you now uncomfortable in the mud-holes of sin? Do you find sinful ways increasingly distasteful? (That s a good sign!) V. OBEDIENCE TEST I John 2:3; 5:2-3 Do you have a real desire to obey God? A. Jesus said: If you love me, you will keep my commands. John 14:15 Obedience is motivated by gratitude - I John 4:19. No desire to obey shows no salvation, for which to be grateful. B. Love keeps God s commands from being grievous (a drag - a heavy burden to be chaffed at) C. Thus, obedience from loving gratitude is the acid test of a new life in Christ -vs. 3. 1. How do you tell a sheep from a goat (Matt.25:31)? A sheep follows. A goat but s. 2. Look at church crowd, and watch who but s. I know I ought to Worship regularly but! Serve my Lord but! Give a tenth of my income but! Witness for Christ...but! Pray fervently...but! Forgive my brother...but! Put God first but! When you see all that but -ing, you ve got a goat!!! Test yourself: Do you have a growing desire to obey God? Are the things, which He asks you to do, not a grievous burden? (That s a good sign!) Conclusion: These things are written so that you may know that you have eternal life. Do you know? Would you like to make sure? Has there really ever been such a conversion, or change, within? Do you need to go to GOD and: A. Admit you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23 6:23) B. Believe JESUS CHRIST died on the cross for your sins. (I Corinthians 15:3-6) C. Confess your sins. (I John 1:9)

We always need people that are caring and are willing to personally pray for others needs. As we pray for there physical, moral, and spiritual needs, we must understand that because of JESUS CHRIST'S love for all of us we are able to do this. CHRIST is the answer to every human's needs. As members of the Body of CHRIST, we have the privilege and responsibility to pray for our Churches, our missionaries, public officials, other ministries, and each other. It is so exciting to see prayers being answered. May we always give CHRIST the Glory!
