re:united Sunday, November 5, 2017 All Saints Day

Welcome to Worship at St. Andrew s Wherever you find yourself on your journey of faith, you are welcome at St. Andrew s. Our mission is to Proclaim Jesus Christ, Live in Christ, Serve! To learn more, we invite you to the Hospitality Desk in the Atrium for materials describing activities and events, as well as to the St. Andrew s website (saintandrews.org). Please join us for fellowship after the service. Listening devices and LARGE PRINT bulletins are available at the door. Please ask an usher. Children of all ages are welcome in worship. Childcare is available in the Infant and Toddler Rooms. If you have children who become restless, you may view the service with televisions in the Atrium, Library and Infant Room. We invite you to fill out and put on a name tag which can be found in the pew rack in front of you. All Saints Day was originally set aside to commemorate all those martyrs from the early persecutions whose names were never recorded and thus whose memory was in constant peril of being lost. Over time, this celebration was extended to remember all who have lived and died in the faith and now rest eternally and triumphantly from their labors. We continue this aspect of the celebration when we name those persons of our individual congregations who have died in the last year and live now in the glory of God. Prelude At the River Robert Lowrey; arr. George Baker Jerusalem, My Happy Home Setting by George Shearing Blessed are the Faithful Departed Souls Brahms Hymn For All the Saints sine nomine 2 Continued on next page

Anthem 9:00 I Saw the Light arr. Camp Kirkland Senior High Choir 10:30 And I Will Praise Him Michael Jothan Choristers Lesson Colossians 2:9-10; 12-15 For in Christ the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness in him, who is the head of every ruler and authority. When you were buried with him in baptism, you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. And when you were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, when he forgave us all our trespasses, erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public example of them, triumphing over them in it. Anthem The King of Love arr. Paul J. Christiansen St. Andrew s Choir; Bob Storeygard, soloist Psalm 119:103-106 Read in unison How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to observe your righteous ordinances. Holy Gospel John 17:24-26 Glory to you, O Lord. Father, I desire that those also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I know you; and these know that you have sent me. I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them. Praise to you, O Christ. 5
