We plan to begin this Thursday March 1 st at 6:30pm, at the home of John and Jane Batterink - 11301 Old Simcoe Road, Port Perry. YOUTH NEWS GEMS/CADET SWITCH - FEB 29 th & MAR 7 th It s that time of year when the Gems become Cadets and the Cadets become Gems. If you have any questions, please talk to a Leader. GEMS WEEKEND - APRIL 21 st & 22 nd The weekend starts with the GET WISDOM RALLY, hosted by 1 st CRC in Barrie - games, crafts, Colleen & Grace and much more. Afterwards our ANNUAL GEMS SLEEPOVER here at Hope Church - dinner, movie and more. We will end the weekend with GEMS SUNDAY - when we have the opportunity to show everyone what Gems is all about. MARCH 25 th YOUTH WORSHIP SERVICE FIRST CRC, KINGSTON The service is open to all ages, but the focus will be on the youth. Hearts in Stereo will be coming in from Ottawa to lead in the music. The theme for the night will be "Come Home" focused around the story of the Prodigal Son. Please attend and invite your friends. The evening will begin with a Soup Dinner at 5:30pm hosted by the church and the service will be scheduled to start at 7pm and end around 9pm. We are seeking youth and young adults, who would like to walk alongside a participant who has a special need. Your help is needed to encourage the participants in all areas of their journey. SPECIAL NEEDS SERVE - July 14-19, 2012 in Ottawa a 5 day spiritual journey for youth between the ages 14-26. This unique SERVE project is for young people with special needs who cannot be accommodated on a traditional SERVE program. Participants will spend time serving God through work projects, worship, and prayer. The events of SERVE are tailored to the ability of the individual so that each person can experience the joy that comes from serving God. SEA TO SEA 2013 POSITION OPENINGS - Sea To Sea 2013 - The Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) has 3 temporary full-time (anticipated to begin mid-april, 2012 and continue through approximately September 2013) position openings for the 2013 Sea to Sea bike tour initiative of the RCA and CRCNA: Advancement Manager, Communications Manager and Bike Tour Manager. These positions are home-based positions and can be located in the US or Canada, however travel for meetings will be required. COMMUNITY EVENTS REGIONAL CHURCH SERVICE You and your family (and friends!) are invited next Sunday, March 4 th, 6:30pm to Durham Christian High School for the Regional Church Service. The students are thoughtfully preparing a time of worship for the evening service, along with a "coffee house" beginning at 6pm provided by local area churches. After another very successful year in 2011 ending in famous Roy Thomson Hall.Choir rehearsals start again on Tuesday March 6 th from 7:30-9:30pm in Bowmanville in the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. The season runs from March until the end of June (July and August off) then September and October and the beginning of November. And yes! Pray for Ivans sister, Angela, as cancer has returned and she faces chemo treatments. Please pray for healing and a deep awareness of God s loving presence, and pray for strength for the family as they come alongside Angela. Continue to pray for and support the McKay & Glasbergen families in their loss of their loved one. Please pray for Chris Boddy, a dear friend and mentor of Denis Mazerolle. Pray for the presence of God and healing for the cancer that has invaded his body. Continued prayer for Tony & Mary DeKoter in Haiti. Pray for Jon & Janice Barnhoorn and family in Nigeria. Pray for safety and for fruitful ministry. Please pray for participants and leaders in the Marriage Course that meets Tuesdays at Hope. Please pray for the Alpha Course.
