APRIL 5,, 2016 R I C H L A N D H I L L S C H R I S T I A N C H U R C H T H E C H U R C H V I S I TO R Follow Me... Two little words that have huge potential meaning. Follow me to the mall! Follow me to a TCU football game! Follow me to a Texas Ranger game! Follow me to. In the Bible we know other words proceed this, don t we. Pick up your cross and follow me, Jesus tells His disciples in the Gospels. One of my favorite translations or paraphrases of the Bible that I often look at is The Message - it spells it out more clearly and I want to share this text from Matthew with you. 24-26 Then Jesus went to work on His disciples. Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You re not in the driver s seat; I am. Don t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for? This is the path to the faith walk that Christ calls us to. Let Him lead you, not what the world wants you to follow. Christ does not leave us alone but is ready, through the study of God s Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit, to show us the way. We are called to live a life of sacrifice, giving of ourselves for the good of others, and that is where we can find who we are called to be. Finally, Jesus says that nothing is of more value than our souls. Use this statement as a lens and look though it at your life. Can you see the life Christ has called us to live? Have you traded something in your life of much less value than your priceless soul? As we continue our journey as the Body of Christ, I hope we all frequently look at our lives and see for ourselves what God wants to do through us. With willing hearts, we should offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God each day and each moment to bring glory to His name. --Pastor Paul revpaulklaus@gmail.com Cell Phone: (817) 600-0031 Church Office: (817) 284-8679 Open Hands and Caring Hearts Prayer Ministry Don t forget, every Sunday morning at 8:45am we gather in the sanctuary to start the worship day in prayer. I encourage our leaders, and members alike, to join us as we pray for our congregation and the members in need of intercession.
