U : C R C R E F The roof company has now completed both lower roofs. The South door is accessible again. Repair work, as you notice by the presence of scaffolding, has also begun on the damaged ceiling. Over the next several weeks, the confessional on the Gospel side will be inaccessible. During that time, the 2nd confessional on the Epistle side, by the altar of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, will be used. As mentioned earlier, a portion of this work is being paid for by our insurance. Due to the urgency of this repair, we needed to use funds set aside in the Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund is a restricted fund set up by former members of St. Francis de Sales parish in 1991. As stewards of this magnificent church, we are determined to replenish the Endowment Fund as soon as possible to guarantee stability for future generations. Please keep the restoration of this church in your prayers! H S C C A R C N 12, 2016 10:30 It is with great joy that we announce the visit of His Grace, Archbishop Robert J. Carlson, to Saint Francis de Sales Oratory on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 10:30am. Archbishop Carlson will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation and will assist at a Solemn High Mass. Please contact the rectory office if you or your child(ren) would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We can help you review the eligibility requirements and register for classes mandatory for anyone who will be confirmed. Classes will be taught from April to July and from September to October. W R U Our second payment was made to the Emil Frei Company for the windows which were completed this past summer. With your continued prayers and support, we will be able to reach our goal! We have collected so far $81,519.59 of $96,615.00. We are at 84%. We hope to make our final payment once we have collected the remaining funds. In addition, there are two more windows, those immediately to the right of St. Joseph s altar, which are in need of attention. These two windows are of concern since rain comes through during thunderstorms and in addition cold air rushes through during the winter months. We hope to start on these two in the near future in order to stop the water intrusion and to provide additional insulation. The repair of these two windows will cost approximately $50,000.00. May God reward you for your generosity! Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us! S D - A 23-5-9 S C S. TO ALL OUR GUESTS Canon Wiener and the faithful of St. Francis de Sales Oratory welcome you, and hope that your time in the Cathedral of South St. Louis may be an opportunity to share in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Faith. Please enjoy the beauty of this building dedicated to St. Francis de Sales, co-patron of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST. According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion. We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians. To receive more information about the Oratory or if you desire to become a member of the Catholic Church, contact the rectory. St. Francis de Sales Oratory is an Oratory of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
