Thirty-third Easter Sunday Sunday in Ordinary Time MYTHS: human trafficking Human trafficking is an issue that has received extensive attention lately in local and national news, yet the issue can be confusing and is often misunderstood. Many people believe that a victim must be moved from one location to another, or across state or international borders. Transportation is only one element. It is important for us to remember that victims could be exploited in their own states and neighborhoods, or even at home. We need to pay particular attention to the reality that children, one of the most vulnerable and sought-after populations by traffickers, could be victims of trafficking and yet could still come home every night for dinner, sleep in their own beds, and be present at school every day, as the traffickers will do whatever they need to do to avoid detection. For a copy of the VIRTUS article Human Trafficking: Dispelling 10 Myths contact jvienna@la-archdiocese.org. November March 15, 27, 2015 2016 Maria Regina Catholic School Open Enrollment! Transitional Kindergarten through 8th Grade Give your child the Catholic Education Advantage for life. Easter Sunday March 27, 2016 EASTER 2016 Christians, to the Paschal Victim Offer your thankful praises! Christ, who only is sinless, Reconciles sinners to the Father. Death and life have contended in that combat stupendous: The Prince of life, who died, reigns immortal. Christ indeed from death is risen, our new life obtaining. Amen. Alleluia. (Easter Sequence) This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. Let us celebrate the Gift of the Resurrected Christ, and congratulate those who received the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil: Adrian Barrios, Stephanie Silva, Browny Basaldua, Criztec Basaldua, and Perla Bazaldua. May the Peace and Joy of Easter fill your hearts with gladness and the promise of eternal life to your loved ones. We thank all of you who have come to celebrate the Gift of the Resurrected Christ at Maria Regina Church. Christ our Passover has been sacrificed; therefore, let us keep the feast with the unleavened bread of purity and truth. Alleluia, alleluia. In this Jubilee Year, may the Church become the voice of every man and woman, and repeat confidently without end: Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. (Ps 25:6) (Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy of Pope Francis) In Christ, Fr. Sang Tran
