YOU as a leader of the New Evangelization
Blessed Are Those Blessed are those who believe in the organization they serve, for their work will have dedication. Blessed are those who guide rather than dictate, for they shall have cooperation. 2
Blessed are those who respect the opinions of others, for they shall be admired. Blessed are those who present their point tactfully, for they shall succeed. 3
Blessed are those who search out the facts and ignore the gossip, for they shall be respected. Blessed are those who give credit to others, overcoming jealousy, for they will have willing helpers. 4
Blessed are those who seek to be humble, for they have a due share of recognition without looking for it. Blessed are those who can take orders as well as give them, for there in lies true leadership. 5
Blessed be God through good leadership! Amen. 6
A Personal Note
Bring the Good News! But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Romans 10.14-15
Catechesis is an authentic encounter with the person of Jesus Christ.
Being, Knowing, Doing The General Directory for Catechesis tells us that "diocesan pastoral programs must give absolute priority to the formation of lay catechists" (234) and that such formation must include three dimensions: "being, knowing, and savoir-faire [doing]." (238)

Follow Jesus: The Way of Discipleship
We are encountering a Mystery! We are not teaching a subject
Our catechesis needs to resemble going to Church MORE than going to school.
You stand as a symbol of the church community. What images of church are your words and actions communicating to your students?
Evangelization can be new in its ardor, methods and expression. (JP II, The Task of the Latin American Bishops, 1983)

What s the story?
Then the disciples came and asked him, "Why do you speak to them [the crowds] in parables?" The reason.is that 'seeing they do not perceive, and hearing they do not listen, nor do they understand.' (cf. Isa 6:9-10) With them indeed is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah that says: 'You will indeed listen, but never understand, and you will indeed look, but never perceive. For this people's heart has grown dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; so that they might not look with their eyes, and listen with their ears, and understand with their heart and turn--and I would heal them.' Adapted From Matthew 13:10-17:
With-ness leads to witness. For Reflection How do you communicate joy with people who listen with their eyes and think with their hearts?
