Unit Understand that Jesus birth fulfilled God s promise to send a Savior and also fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies Realize they need to know Jesus personally, and accept Him as their Savior if they have not already done so Trust God to keep His promises Begin to share their faith joyfully with others Verse-a-Month Club Verse: God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9). DECEMBER 1, 2013 Lesson 1 Waiting Takes So Long! Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Isaiah 7:14; Deuteronomy 7:9 Bible Study: God... the Ultimate Promise Keeper Bible Truth: Jesus birth shows us that God faithfully keeps His promises. Realize that God can bring good out of the difficult times we face Know assurance verses, such as Romans 8:28, which strengthen faith in God during difficult times Rely on God s promises and continue trusting Him when dealing with a difficult time JANUARY 19, 2014 Lesson 8 A Chance to Get Even Scripture: Genesis 41:41--45:28; 1 Thessalonians 5:15 Bible Study: Joseph Refuses Revenge Bible Truth: God s people refuse revenge and seek to mend broken relationships. Realize that Christians struggle with feelings of resentment and anger toward those who have mistreated them

Realize that faith in God and obedience to Him enables Christians to do their part to mend broken relationships Seek God s help in regaining trust and mending relationships, rather than getting even JANUARY 26, 2014 Lesson 9 A United Family Scripture: Genesis 46:1-7, 26-34; 47:1-11; 50:15-26; Colossians 3:12-15 Bible Study: A Happy Reunion Bible Truth: God expects us to forgive those who wrong us. Realize that Christians must forgive those who have wronged them Understand what forgiveness means: a change of attitude that results in a lifetime process of treating the person with love and acceptance Commit to a lifestyle of forgiveness and love toward others, with God s help Unit 3 STEWARDSHIP CHOICES Unit Bible Truth: Christians are caretakers, not owners, of the resources God has entrusted to us. Unit Understand what it means to make Christ the Lord of their lives Discover what it means to be a steward of the resources God has entrusted to them Want to use their abilities, money, and possessions to serve God Begin to make choices based on Biblical guidelines for Christian stewardship Verse-a-Month Club Verse: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33).
