News for the Body of Christ Please check the boxes in the narthex for your Christmas Cards through the Christmas Card Exchange from your fellow church members. Celebrate and share God's love with your church family! Alter Flowers for 2016 Please contact Jill in the church office at any time during the year if you would like to have flowers. Many dates are still available. To all volunteers working with children under the age of 18: Session has set a deadline for the required Pa. State Volunteer Background certificates as December 31 st 2015 at Bethany. You will not be able to work with children if the required certifications are not on file. Volunteer binders containing detailed information and instructions are available at the church office or by request at volclear@bethanypresby.org Communion Instruction for Children/Youth If your school-aged child or youth has not partaken of Holy Communion and you feel they might be ready, then contact one of the pastors. John or Robbie can offer instruction as well as answer any questions you or your child/youth may have. This may be especially helpful for children who are no longer leaving the worship service to go to Worship and Wonder but are participating through the end, which includes the celebration of Communion on those particular Sundays. Interested? Please contact a pastor to schedule a time to get together. The Missionaries going to Haiti later this month are collecting Peanut Butter and brown sugar to distribute. There is a box for donations near the nursery in the Welcome Center. Haiti is currently under a severe drought and is at risk for famine. Thank you.
Bethany Presbyterian Church will be hosting the IF: Gathering in April 2016. The IF: Gathering seeks to gather, equip, and unleash this generation of women to live out God s calling on their lives. We are a generation of women that believes God at His Word that He called us to our places and will use us for His glory and for the good of His people. Our goal is to make the name of Jesus great in and through the women of our church, neighborhood, & city. The world around us feels like it is crumbling and almost nothing seems certain, until we look to Jesus and see that our Hope is very clear and certain. He didn t just give us salvation Jesus is our salvation and the example of what it means to live in the fullness of grace and truth. What the world needs is His redemption, the very redemption and hope that lives inside of us. Rather than shrink back, it is time to love like Jesus loved, serve like Jesus served, pray like Jesus prayed, and pursue holiness like Jesus pursued it. This April 8th and 9th, join this global gathering of women across denominations, generations, and cultures as we come together in the name of Jesus. Please visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/439213086269925/ to register. Please contact Mandy Evans at 724-926-4049 for more information Bethany MOMSnext Are you a mom of a school-age child interested in connecting with other moms? If so, MOMSnext is for you! As a part of MOPS International, MOMSnext connects moms all over the world to a community of women, in our own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS and MOMSnext groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying along-side one another. Bethany MOMSnext will begin a new season at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Please join us for an information gathering night on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 7:15pm in the Welcome Center. Light refreshments will be provided. Bring a friend and come check it out! The Bethany Youth Ringers will begin rehearsing this Tuesday, January 12 from 7:00 until 7:30 pm in the choir room. We would love to have some new ringers join us this year. Please consider serving the Lord through this ministry of music.

We Respond to God s Word *The Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead and ascended into heaven, and sittith at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *The Hymn I ll Fly Away Some bright morning when this life is over, I'll fly away To that home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away I'll fly away oh glory, I'll fly away (in the morning) When I die hallelujah by and by, I'll fly away When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly, I'll fly away Oh how glad and happy when we meet, I'll fly away No more cold iron shackles on my feet, I'll fly away Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away To a land where joys will never end, I'll fly away *The Benediction *The Benediction Response God Be With You Tomer Postlude How Brightly Shines the Morningstar J.
