FLOWER COMMITTEE HELP WANTED - One or two people to join our Flower Committee for doing Sunday morning arrangements. Please call Mary Wilson (854-4277) for more information if you would be able to help us for all (or even part) of the year. Remember you can also help if you have a garden with flowers to share, have an arrangement from a special occasion we could use, or by donating flowers in memory or in honor of someone. We also want to thank Lisa Carlson for her many years of generous service with the Committee. She was always willing to help in so many ways. --Flower Committee To the Congregation of Ephraim Moravian Church: Thank you for all of your prayers and support of my sister, Pastor Dawn. My progress has been remarkable and, as one of my uncles said, We have a new Lazarus. All of my recovery is due to the sustained prayers of congregations and people all over our great nation. Please continue to pray for Scott as he recovers from his injuries, and for Dell as he cares for me at home and pray for the great surgeons who pieced my broken bones and body back together, and the nurses and aides who met my daily needs. God bless you all. Board of World Missions News Cuba - Christ s Spirit is active in the Moravian Church in Cuba. The first women s conference was held in Cuba Nov 30-Dec 2 in Havana, with about 60 women attending. The leadership is strong among the women in Cuba, who comprise the large majority of the membership there. Keep them in prayer as they join together to build up the women in their church. Sierra Leone - The Luawa-Hiehun Community Moravian Church combines some of the best elements of our Moravian heritage (such as the right hand of fellowship in Holy Communion) with elements of the local culture--like the call to prayer by the drums at 6 a.m. each morning! They have a school lunch program (beans sent from the U.S., but now begun to be grown locally) with local greens and rice. They provide lunch for almost 200 students at the Moravian Secondary School. Please pray that their government will grant accreditation for additional levels of study (grades 10-12).
