CULTURE and Character CULTURE AND CHARACTER relates to how we instill a positive emotional reaction, and build a positive emotional connection, with our congregation and visitors. Our Vision for Culture and Character: At Emmanuel, our worship is an outward and visible sign of our culture. We practice on Sunday what we believe about our role in the community. We are committed to outreach, diversity and pastoral care. Although we may attend different services, we are one congregation. Members are aware of niche fellowship opportunities and can readily find a niche within the church. Members feel comfortable enough to initiate new forms of fellowship and take responsibility and ownership of them. COMMON LIFE Common Liferelates to how we deliver a valuable experience to our congregation. Our Vision for Common Life:Worship is central to our common life. Increased opportunities (worship, leadership, tasks, fellowship) lead to increased congregational involvement and more consistent attendance. We move from a hierarchical structure to flatter decision making. The Vestry role changes from oversight to provision of resources and permission giving. Personal roles are not always and forever but for a time and a season. We sustain an active youth-driven youth group which is social as well as mission-oriented. Small groups have opportunities for extracurricular fellowship, using our facilities or elsewhere.
