Pastor and Mrs. Jun Catbagan Fundamental Missions, Inc. Lighthouse Baptist Church P.O. Box 6247 P.O. Box 86 Norfolk, VA 23508 San Fernando LaUnion 2500 U.S.A. PHILIPPINES February 29, 2016 Dear Pastor Jerry and praying friends. Praise God for another year of continuing labour in His vineyard for His praise and glory. We celebrated our 25 th Church Anniversary on February 21, 2016. We are so grateful to our Almighty God for guiding us for the past 24 years, for enabling us to labour in the ministry of which we are not worthy but because of His mercy and abundant grace, we were able to do so; with our theme FITLY JOINED TOGETHER we hope to continue the task the Lord has given us. Thank you for praying for the success of the service. We thank the Lord too for the eight (8) souls who obeyed the ordinance of water baptism. Some of them came from our mission points. May these souls continue to serve Him faithfully and grow in their new faith in the Lord. Our seaman contact named Freddie Lopez from Aringay came also to attend the anniversary. Dr. Felipe Comela, a college professor from La Trinidad, Benguet came to attend the anniversary. He is a candidate for the presidency of Benguet State University at La Trinidad. We had our fellowship after our morning service, I told him about out Lord s saving grace and he attentively listened and told me that soon he will be with us in worshipping the Lord. Please include him also in your prayers. Pastor John Padilla together with some of his church members also came in the afternoon. Our Sugpon Bible studies continue every Thursday and Friday with three to four rooms of fourth year high school students. Pastor Chris, Brothers Albert Tiwaken and Bryan Banan went. I was supposed to go but then I had a visitor. We conducted an Evangelistic meeting at Sison, Pangasinan a day before the anniversary. We had a contact there, Bro Julius Menor, an attendee here who wanted to transfer his membership together with his wife. They came from Metropolitan Bible Baptist Church, Baguio City. Sison, Pangasinan is a two-hour drive going south from San Fernando. PRAYER REQUESTS: 1. My flight to Macau on Monday, March 9 for the renewal of my blue card that will expire on March 15. I should be there before it will expire and wait for the release of the new one then come back before the wedding of Pastor Banjo Bumatay, the youngest son of Pastor Domingo Bumatay. 2. Recognition and closing exercises of LBLC and LFBBI on April 8. 3. Pastor Banjo Bumatay and Sis Joceleene Banan s wedding on April 21. 4. Youth Camp on April 27 to 29. 5. Mission Trips, including my health, as I feel that my strength was lessened due to my knee injury. Before I can go for a walk to about an hour and more without feeling anything, but now, 25 to 30 minutes of walking is already a long walk and feels tired already. MISSIONS: Lighthouse Abra: Soul winning and visitation continues. Pastor Banjo and some of the brethren in the church went to Barangay Pantok and conducted soul winning and there were some people there who were willing to listen to the Word of God and as a result some professed and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We noticed that there were so many children, so the following day, we went back to that place and teach the children about our loving God. Though the place is about 500 meters away from the church, some were willing to come to church to attend the church service. We are praying
that they will continue. Please include in your prayers the organization of the mission as a church on May 1. Lighthouse Aringay: As of now, Bro. Albert Tiwaken, a graduate of LFBBI is handling the mission in Aringay. They transferred to another place which is much better than the previous location. Lighthouse Bangar: Like our mission in Aringay. They also transferred again to another location because the owner of the house they are renting told them to renovate the house. They also celebrated their 7 th mission anniversary on Feb 7 with their theme HE MUST INCREASE and I MUST DECREASE (John 3:30) Lighthouse Benguet: Pastor Efren reported that their school ministry resumed because it was stopped for a while due to the December vacation of the students. They are teaching Grades 4 and 5 and on Fridays Grade 10. Every 2 nd and 4 th Friday of the month is the schedule for the Barangay officials and on Tuesdays Bible study at Guinaoang elementary and high school students. They are praying to locate a lot to buy as they are raising fund for this project. Lighthouse La Trinidad; This new outreach of Lighthouse became a mission last November. God has blessed this mission with professional members and attendees. Bro. Erlson resigned from his work to devote his full time in the ministry. Though the church members cannot go on full time visitation because of their work and school activities, they continue serving the Lord by inviting their friends and workmates to attend the church services and extending hours in the evening to attend their scheduled Bible studies. Please pray for Michael Oro and his family who belong to the Iglesia Ni Cristo that they will be enlightened with the true gospel and that they may be saved; also a regular attendee named Adrino Dao-anis and wisdom and boldness for Bro. Erlson to minister to the spiritual needs of the brethren in La Trinidad Lighthouse Laguna: This mission was a result of prayers of brethren who has no pastor to guide them for quite a time, but because of the grace of God, and His leading, this mission came into existence. This was handled by Pastor Joel Ligsay but due to the distance of his work to the place where they worship, he resigned. God s timing is the perfect time when Bro. Dodie Caligner, a graduate of LFBBI came to visit here as he was working in that place. I asked him if he is willing to handle the work and he agreed. Now, they celebrated their 1 st mission anniversary on Sunday, Jan 31. Lighthouse Macapsing, Rizal, NuevaEcija: They have just celebrated their first mission anniversary, January 24 with their theme Serving the CREATOR, not the creature. In support for the work, all Lighthouse missionaries went there to give the full support for Pastor Vastah. Please pray for him that he may have the strength to continue. Lighthouse San Gabriel: All scheduled Bible studies continue every Monday and Friday; Tuesday at the Police station. Please continue to pray for Pastor Andie and his family especially Vand Isaac. The child is diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. We thank the Lord for the strength, abundant grace, mercy and provisions and for your continued prayers and support for the Lord s work here in the Philippines. We endeavour to work more as the devil is also having overtime to hinder the spread of the Gospel. In Christ s harvestfield, Bro. Jun and Sis. Lulu
