OUR MISSION & COMMON LIFE Rev. Patricia Farris Moments for Mission - Prayer Quilt Ministry Sue Payne and Maile Marquand We thank God for these opportunities for fellowship, for worship, and for service. Thanks be to God! ANTHEM WE HEAR GOD S WORD The Chancel Choir/Dr. James Smith, Music Director Anna Kostyuchek, Violin/Peter Smith, Tenor Drum When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (arr. Dan Forrest) When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of Glory died, my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, save in the death of Christ, my God; all the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to his blood. See, from his head, his hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down. Did e er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown? Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small; love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. THE GOSPEL John 3:14-21 (Pew Bible page 94, N.T.) Jesus tells us that we are called to love others and to be a light for the world. Through our service work we are sent forth from this community to spread hope, love and embody God s grace. You can help the Youth Service Project with their fundraising next Sunday, March 18, and March 25 after worship by purchasing See s Easter candy at their table in Simkins Hall.
