GOD S GROUND PLAN FOR SALVATION

A Nation God s Promise to Abraham Jacob (Israel) and family came to Egypt as 70 people. Gen.46:27 Moses lead Israel out as a Nation 430yrs later, to the day. Ex.12:40-41 A Land After 40 years Joshua led the Children of Israel into the Promised land A Seed The Messiah

NACHASH TANIN At the burning bush, Moses rod became a Nachash (snake) In Pharaoh's court, Aarons rod became a Tanin (crocodile) and the magician s rods, Tanineem (crocodiles) Both of these are later referred to as Serpents The Egyptians believed that the crocodile god protected Pharaoh God demonstrated His superiority by symbolically eating up Pharaoh s protection!

Blood Hepi-god of the Nile Frogs Heket-a goddess of fertility Lice Geb-god of the earth Flies Khepri-god of rebirth creation Death of livestock Hathor-goddess of joy, music, dance motherhood Boils and sores Isis- goddess of medicine God Attacks 10 Revered Egyptian gods Hail Nut-goddess of sky Protector of children Locusts Seth-god of storms deserts and disasters Darkness Ra- god of sun Death of Firstborn Pharaohdescendant of gods, intermediary between gods and man

Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold and clothing. And the LORD had given the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. Ex.12:35&36

Death of the Firstborn or Passover The firstborn of Israel were saved by the blood of the lamb and God said they belonged to Him Ex.13:2

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people: for all the earth is mine. Exodus 19:5 Then all the people answered together and said, All that the LORD has spoken we will do. Exodus 19:8&9 The people heard God s voice when He spoke to Moses. Ex.19:19 Then God called him up to the top of the mountain. Ex.19:20 Moses was on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights. Exodus 24:18

ON MOUNT SINAI GOD gave Moses the Law GOD gave Moses instructions, pattern and measurements of the Tabernacle GOD names those to whom He gave abilities and chose to be the construction foremen

The Tabernacle as a shadow of Eden 1.God walks among His people. Gen.3:8 Lev.26:12;Deut.23:14 2.Adam/Levites were to cultivate and keep the garden/tabernacle. Gen.2:15 Nu.3:7-8 3.Term used for covering in Gen.3:21 is the same term used to describe covering of the priests. Gen3:21 Ex.28:41 4.A tree in the midst of the garden and the tabernacle. Gen.2:9 Ex.25:32-36 5.Precious metals found in the garden are also found in the tabernacle. Gen.3:21 Ex.28:41; 29:8; 40:14; Lev.8:13; Nu.11:7 6.The entrance to the garden and the tabernacle is from the East. Ex.27:13-16 Gen.3:24 7.Cherubim guard the access to the Tree of Life in the garden and the Ark in the tabernacle. Gen.3:24 Ex.25:18-22; 26:31

Parallels with Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle The East False gods were usually worshipped Toward the East; the rising sun. The Tabernacle was facing East; therefore People must turn their backs on the East to Come and worship God. God promised to provide if they obeyed Him. Point of choice. Who will you serve. The false or the true. You can t do both. Moses and Joshua told them to choose. Deut. 30:15-20; Joshua 24:15

Parallels with Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden, and cherubim and a flaming sword were placed to guard the tree of life. Gen.3:24 Cherubim God asked for cherubim to be woven Into the curtain before the Holy of Holies. Ex.26:31-34. The Holy Spirit indicated the way was still closed. Heb.9:7&8

Parallels with Garden of Eden and the Tabernacle Foreign gods Worship toward the East (rising sun) Sacrifice out of fear, appeasement, wanting things, etc. Worshipping demon gods outside of the camp Lev.17:1-9 God Almighty Sacrifice is God s requirement because of sin. Instigated in the garden of Eden as substitutionary death. Gen.3:21. God sacrificed the first animal to clothe Adam & Eve. Innocent blood was shed. Instead of the sinner dying and innocent life dies in their place. Even in the Hebrew language we see the connection. Korban (sacrifice) has the same 3 root Letters as Mehitkarev (to come close, approach). It was called a Kapara (temporary covering), it meant every time you sinned, there had to be another sacrifice. Here we see God s heart: to have a personal relationship with living people. The Life is in the blood and it is poured out in atonement. No human is permitted to eat or drink blood. Gen.9:4; Deut.12:15&16, 22-24; Deut.15:22&23

Make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in My people. Ex. 25:8 In Hebrew; B tochem literally means within them From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering. Ex.25:2 Gold Silver Copper Blue, Purple, Scarlet and fine Linen Goats hair Red ram skins Tachash Acacia wood Oil Spices Sweet incense Onyx stones Precious stones

Ex. 35: 30, 31, 34, 35 See the LORD has called by name Betzalel (In God s shadow).. And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship,... And He has put in his heart the ability to teach, in him and Aholiav (father s tent)... He has filled them with skill to do all manner of work. Then Moses called Betzalel, Aholiav and every gifted artisan in whose heart the LORD had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work. Ex. 36:2 God calls us by name and gives us the talents we need for the work He has given us to do.

The Acacia tree; Very hard, twisted, thorny wood. Individual trees spread out in the desert, not in a forest. It was used as the basic structural element It was shaped for service. Like our lives; Very hard, twisted and thorny individuals wanting our own way; yet once we are available (forgiven and cleansed), God shapes us for service. God said, take what is available

Plain shaped wood Covered with copper Covered with gold According to the work of service

Moses cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. Ex. 32:19 Then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, Whoever is on the LORD S side - come to me! And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves unto him. Ex. 32:26 God takes the Levites to serve Him (instead of all the first born of Israel) Num. 3:44-51: Num. 8:14-19 40 days = 6 weeks after making a covenant with the Living GOD Make us gods that may go before us. Ex. 32:1 And he (Aaron) received the gold from their hand and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a moulded calf. Then they said this is your gods, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt! Ex. 32:4 Before worshipping the golden calf the people could build family altars; now the priests must act on their behalf.
