This important equipment will help to ensure the safety of our officers and the citizens of South Portland. I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation for the outstanding working relationship between the Portland Pipeline Corporation and the South Portland Police Department. Once again, thank you for the donation.

Fire Department Kevin W. Guimond Fire Chief Jim Gailey City Manager 25 Cottage Road South Portland, ME 04106 October 27, 2014 Ref Donation Dear Jim, I m writing to ask that you forward to the city council the acceptance of a $2500 donation from the Portland Pipe Line Corporation. Every year the fire department is very fortunate to receive numerous donations and we appreciate them all. Over the years we have used these donations towards thermal cameras, power stretchers as well as public education items. This donation will be utilized to purchase a Blitzfire Monitor that will allow us to remotely flow up to 500 gallons a minute of water or foam. I have included a picture to give you and the council an idea of what we are talking about. We received a donation several years ago to purchase one of these units that is currently on Engine 6 and it would be a nice addition to place this new unit on Engine 8. It provides a level of safety for our firefighters because it can be used remotely. If you have any questions please let me know. Sincerely, Chief Kevin Guimond
