SUNDAYS 9:15am Bible Studies 10:30am Worship Service Broadcast: Northland Cable Channel 9 Radio - 93.1 FM Office Hours The Office Closed Monday, Jan. 15 in Observance of Martin Luther King Day Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm (closed during lunch hour) Friday 8:30am - Noon 254-965-3187 Nursery Hours Sunday 9am - 12:00pm Wednesday 5:45-7:30pm Library Hours Today the Nation celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King, Jr, an American Baptist minister and civil rights leader. His most famous speech was entitled "I Have A Dream," and challenged the nation that God's will was for all people to enjoy the blessings of Freedom. Scripture clearly teaches us that ALL men were created in God's image and that God so loved the world that He sent His Son to die for ALL men. It is the scheme of the evil one to divide and conquer, to create prejudice and conflict, to rob God's creation of love, joy, and peace. Christians should lead the way in showing love for one another, and standing up for what is right. Our nation today is in the midst of two very destructive crisis: one that is confused with what is right and what is wrong; the other involves attacking anyone who is different or holds different views. The Bible made clear that a house divided cannot stand. Christians must stand up for what is right, the Truth, and at the same time, show love and respect for others. Jesus specializes in bringing people together, and bringing them home to the Father. The Gospel is all about new beginnings. So, let us today remember the past and ask God's forgiveness, and begin anew to show the love of God to others. Remember His love can transform all things. Celebrating Freedom in Christ, Pastor Ken

History's Place in Racial Reconciliation 16th Street Baptist Church, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Birmingham City Jail; each of these calls to mind pictures from our not-so-distant past. But what importance do they play in terms of how Christians ought to consider race relations today? What place does history have in our discussions? Pastor Jason Cook poses this question to Dr. Robert Smith Jr. and Dr. Russell Moore to illustrate how our history reminds us of our fallenness and creates a platform to demonstrate the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
