Dated: 28 th May, 2013 Day: Tuesday. We did some steps is to become a key ourself. The first step: Allah is AL Fattah The second step: Tawheed Allah The third step Beneficial knowledge The fourth step: Take care of the obligations of Islam Our nafs Amaara always enjoys the evil and pushes us for evil; we can make this Nafs a key of goodness with the ways of becoming a key. The fifth step: Striving against yourself We need Allah. When you strive against yourself you will feel like climbing a mountain. This means that it s difficult. Alhamdullilah we have Allah as our supporter in this struggle. We all are struggling for ourself so we cannot take each other s help we need Allah. Each one of us faces different kinds of difficulties during striving and only Allah Al Qareeb knows and understands your strive. Even if we tell to people and explain them how difficult situation we face they will never understand us. Why are we tested? Allah will put us in tests in our life. These tests are not to break us or to make us down but they are to elevate us in rank. This is a matter of understanding and our response depends on how we take this test. Every situation we face is a test for us. Each test is about Laa Ilaha IllAllah that is do we fulfill the claim of saying the Kalima Tawheed? Someone around us will either praise us or put us down. This is a test from Allah for us we should not be affected by what people say about us. The moment we will rely on Allah our test will finish. We always struggle to change the situation and make it better. Our test is whether we rely on Allah or not? How much do we attach to Allah? When you rely on Allah then you don t rely on yourself or anyone else. Each one of us faces many situations in life and these things are a big deal for us. These situations are important for us like marriage children and then grandchildren. Names of ALLAH Al Fattah Page 2
In real all the tests are same and they test our Kalimah. You need to overcome your Nafs and rely only on Allah. We cannot see Allah but we need to rely on Him this is our test. Example. For example if someone scolds you unjustly then you reply back to her and then talk bad about her and talk to her rudely by arguing. Then you did more bad to her than she did to you. So you became the Zaalim and you collected all the sins. This happens when you don t understand this life. When you know that this is a test from Allah and you suppress your emotions and control your anger then you will become close to Allah. If someone praises you. Another type of test is that people are praising about you. If you enjoy this situation then without realizing you will develop the sickness of pride and it will lead to arrogance. So then you will see yourself as someone you are not. Pride belongs to Allah because He is perfect in His attributes. When someone praises you then your Jihaad is to not become proud and associate the goodness to Allah. You need to do Jihaad for doing the good deeds. The person who wants to be a key for others he needs to be free of such sicknesses and overcome his nafs. What does Shaitan do? Shaitan has a part to play in this process by making the Mujahidat-in-nafs more difficult for you. He will be standing on the top of the mountain telling you that why do you have to do so much struggle? Why are you worrying so much? If you want Paradise then Allah is Ghafoor and Raheem or he will say that you can t reach here and the path is very difficult. When you reach the top. As soon as you reach the top of the mountain then there is no more climbing and you will see a flat green land. This means that your desires and priorities will go as Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho alihi wassalam). Names of ALLAH Al Fattah Page 3
Prophet Muhammad (Sallao Alihi Wassalam) said that life is like there is a straight road and on the sides are beautiful curtains if you leave the straight path and go to the curtain then you will fall off. Shaitan will just make you look at the wrong things he will not push you. When you are close to the curtain which represents the worldly life then we will slip. Always seek Allah s refuge from Shaitan. It is very sad to see sometimes that people strive very hard and they are not doing it for Allah so all they do is of no benefit to them. So we need to strive for Allah alone. The sixth step: Dua a The sixth matter is Duaa; don t ever underestimate the power of Dua a. Sometimes people say one word and it opens the gates of goodness for others. One lady while in Haram gave another a book and this book completely changed her life and she went in Dawah field. Now that lady will get so much Ajar without even realizing. Dua a is very important it s the most beautiful thing. When we are leaving home we are supposed to say this Dua a so that we become an opening of goodness for everyone. Names of ALLAH Al Fattah Page 4
This is asking guidance for yourself and others. This is a beautiful Dua a. Guidance can be one word or action. Indirectly this Dua a is to ask Allah to make you a key for goodness. The seventh step: Don t place yourself in Fitnah : If you get a responsibility then this is a test from Allah. Sometimes people are fighting for a position then this is Fitnah. When Allah puts us in a situation then Allah will help us and make it easy for us. On the other hand if you fight to get a position or place then you will have to strive yourself. If you know that in one situation you will do something wrong then avoid that situation. For e.g. if you sit with someone then you will argue and have a fight so avoid sitting with them. If something affects your faith then avoid that situation. It is one of the attributes of Munafiqeen to go to Fitnah. We are in this life for trials but this does not mean that we go to Fitnah ourself. Just before Qiyama there will be Names of ALLAH Al Fattah Page 5
Fitnah of Dajjal and Prophet Muhammad (Sallaho Alihi Wassalam) said us don t go to Dajjal. We should not say that we will be able to face this trial. If you don t know about something then don t say anything about that. For e.g. if some scholar has one opinion and another scholar has a different so don t become a judge and say that who is right or wrong. The eighth step: Being gentle when dealing with a matter or people : A person needs to be very gentle when dealing in a matter. Don t be hasty or judgmental. A person who is harsh cannot become an opening for goodness. Good manners should be reflected in our personalities all the time. Our character is tested in difficult times only as it s easy to be good in good times. Don t ever ascribe goodness to yourself by saying that I am a good person then Allah will send a test to show you the real character. If you say associate good things to yourself then this is itself a wrong attribute. Be humble, use polite words and say good things about others. Names of ALLAH Al Fattah Page 6
