Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Giving Our Tithes/Call to Generosity Every week we are offered the chance to give, to experience joy in furthering God s justice and love in the world. As we are thankful, so may we give. *Offertory Response Tune #780 (Words to #778) Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below; Praise God for all that love has done Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One. *Prayer of Dedication (Unison) Loving God, what we give here is a token and partial. Roman 10:5-15, Matthew 14:22-33 One: The Word of God for the people of God. All: Thanks be to God. Sermon Step Out in Faith Rev. Dr. Monica Dawkins-Smith HOLY COMMUNION The sacrament of Holy Communion is also known as The Lord s Supper or the Eucharist (which means Thanksgiving). This church recognizes it is Jesus who invites us to this table; therefore, the table is open to all who are here and desire to share. The Invitation Pastor: This is the joyful feast of the people of God. People: Men and women, young and old, Pastor: from every walk of life, People: from every way of life Unison: All are invited to Christ s table. *Communion Prayer of Preparation Lord, You are the Bread of Heaven, The Bread of Life, Whoever eats, shall never hunger. This is the Cup of Pardon, Of healing, strength, and joy. Whoever drinks, shall never thirst. So may we come, Lord, to your table: Hungry, thirty, and open to your Spirit. Come to us, meet us, and fill us through these elements. Amen. Words of Institution Sharing the Elements All those who wish to receive the love of Christ into their lives through the gift of Holy Communion are invited to receive these gifts from Christ s Table. (Please hold the bread until all are served that we may eat together. Also, hold the cup so we may drink together.) [The red cups hold grape juice, the white liquid is wine. Please choose according to your spiritual preference. The bread is gluten free.]

*Prayer of Thanksgiving Lord of Abundant Life, You invite us to new life and startle us by extending the invitation to all your children. Gather us in communion with all who hunger for meaning. Draw us together with those who thirst to taste forgiveness sweet on their tongue. Unite us with all who long to be whole. No words are sufficient to say thanks for what we have been given. So take our lives and use them, sending us forth as the body of Christ To feed, to comfort, to honor the suffering people of this world, To proclaim, to rejoice, to celebrate the Life which is immediate and Infinite and Mystery. Amen.
