Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time August 13, 2017 Worship 10:25 am Greetings: No matter who you are or where you are on your life journey, you are welcome here. Dr. Monica Dawkins-Smith HOLY COMMUNION The sacrament of Holy Communion is also known as The Lord s Supper or the Eucharist (which means Thanksgiving). This church recognizes it is Jesus who invites us to this table; therefore, the table is open to all who are here and desire to share. The Invitation Pastor: This is the joyful feast of the people of God. People: Men and women, young and old, Pastor: from every walk of life, People: from every way of life Unison: All are invited to Christ s table. *Communion Prayer of Preparation Lord, You are the Bread of Heaven, The Bread of Life, Whoever eats, shall never hunger. This is the Cup of Pardon, Of healing, strength, and joy. Whoever drinks, shall never thirst. So may we come, Lord, to your table: Hungry, thirty, and open to your Spirit. Come to us, meet us, and fill us through these elements. Amen. *Prayer of Thanksgiving Lord of Abundant Life, You invite us to new life and startle us by extending the invitation to all your children. Gather us in communion with all who hunger for meaning. Draw us together with those who thirst to taste forgiveness sweet on their tongue. Unite us with all who long to be whole. No words are sufficient to say thanks for what we have been given. So take our lives and use them, sending us forth as the body of Christ To feed, to comfort, to honor the suffering people of this world, To proclaim, to rejoice, to celebrate the Life which is immediate and Infinite and Mystery. A handicap restroom is located beyond the door in front of the sanctuary. Other restrooms are located downstairs. A baby and parent area is located in the rear of the sanctuary near the elevator. A nursery for infants and toddlers is available during the service. Off street parking is available directly behind the church and down the alley. Do not use the parking lot across the alley, that is for the apartment residents.
