Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time July 9, 2017 HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly At that time Jesus exclaimed: I give praise to you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the little ones. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will Come to me all you who labor and are burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon your shoulders for I am meek and humble of heart and you will find rest for yourselves. Recently while watching a film clip with youth in a bible study, it was clear that they had a greater understanding of the message than I. They saw things, images, heard music, which revealed a deeper meaning and understanding of the lesson at hand. Yes, God does reveal to the childlike things which often pass us by. The message for all of us is to place our trust and confidence in the Lord and in responding to His call, learn from Him and the little ones. He reveals Himself as meek and humble, two of the beatitudes which we are called to live. As the minister translated the beatitudes at the inauguration God blesses the poor in Spirit, God blesses the meek, God blesses the humble He surely does. Summer Hours Summer hours have begun! PARISH MINISTRIES St.Vincent De Paul Society: If you are experiencing financial hardship due to a temporary loss of employment, illness, or disability, the St. Vincent de Paul Society is available to provide assistance for your everyday needs such as food, utility assistance, or agency referrals. Please dial the parish number 609-371-0499, then press 8, and leave a message with your name and phone number. Someone will return your call. All calls are handled in strict confidence. Caring Meals: The Caring Meals group delivers soup year round to our homebound parishioners and provides short-term help to parishioners who are recuperating from an illness or hospital stay with deliveries of homecooked meals. If you like to cook or know of someone who could benefit from either of these two services, please call Maryanne Sheerin at 609-937-4963. CRS Rice Bowl- Your "Change" Changes Lives: Jenny was removed from her parents home where she suffered abuse and neglect. She bounced from foster home to foster home until a family member agreed to take custody, which lasted until Jenny was 15 when she became homeless. She stayed on the couches of friends and, incredibly, was able to graduate high school. She needed help with her next steps, so she turned to her local Catholic Charities mentoring program. Now Jenny has temporary housing and is attending college. Across the country in 2015, Catholic Charities agencies provided 450,770 clients with some kind of housingrelated service. Food Pantry: Please remember your neighbors next weekend. There are no school lunches over the summer months, but there are still hungry students. Protein is most important -canned meals with meat, tuna, and peanut butter are all important for growing bodies. Thank you for your continued generosity! Elder Care: Do you need assistance with shopping periodically? Are you seeking a responsible person to sit with someone in need of supervision for a brief time? Do you require help with minor household chores? Please call Marge Nadolny 609-409-6164 to schedule this service. Fair Trade: There will be no table in the Narthex next weekend; however, coffee and tea are always available for sale. There is a drop box next to the display and you are invited to use the honor system. Thank you for supporting small farmers and their families! Do You Need a Helping Hand with Minor Tasks Around the House? There are parishioners who are willing to help in these situations. Please contact Esther Wolff by phone on 732-521-6019 or via email to richardj.wolff@verizon.net. McCaffrey Tapes Just a kind reminder we are collecting McCaffrey grocery store register receipts ONLY McCAFFREY RECEIPTS. Other store receipts cannot be used. McCaffery gifts us with 1% of the total grocery amount collected. In this past, this has meant donations up to $700 to our church just for collecting these McCaffrey receipts. There is a drop box in the Narthex. Thank you for your participation!

Rosary Group Please join us every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:50 a.m. to recite the Holy Rosary. We will be seated at the right side of the church near the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Stewardship Reflections For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. - MATTHEW 11:30 When we think of being good stewards, we may think that God is asking too much of us when He calls us to generously share our time, talent and treasure. However, we must remember that we are not owners of anything; we are merely stewards of the gifts God has given us. All He is asking is that we give back a small portion of what He has already given to us.
