Growth & self-care Explore. Relax. Grow. This 3 day Yoga + Psychology Retreat is about taking a break during Ascension weekend to explore boundaries: Learning to assert your needs, be centered in who you are and live more authentically. Healthy boundaries are linked to better self-care, more confidence, reduced risk of burn out / less stress, better self-trust and self-respect. They are the key to a better relationship to yourself and to others, built on authenticity. Boundaries are experiential and start from a felt sense of being grounded and centred in the body. For this reason, we are excited to combine yoga, breath work, meditation and exercises from Psychology based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the work of Brené Brown. Learn practical ways to assert your needs, be centred in who you are and live authentically.
Boundaries matter This retreat is for you if you Have a hard time saying no to things you don t want to do. Feel like people are often taking advantage of you. Find yourself needing to please people. Themes we will cover Here are the themes we will cover both in both the psychology workshops and yoga practice. Why boundary setting is HARD and feels unnatural and counter to our need for connection and attachment. Why boundaries are necessary for healthy human relationships grounded in authenticity and integrity. Understanding what we are responsible for / can influence and what we can't Understanding the key role of anger: Starting to notice anger / resentment / regret as signals that our boundaries have been crossed. Connecting with what we want to stand for in a situation (values) and using these as a guiding force. Tapping into healthy anger (assertiveness) and body strength - being grounded and centred. How to set a boundary step-by-step. Working with the inevitable discomfort of setting a boundary + working with the resistance to setting a boundary or asking for what we need.
Yoga + meditation + breath work All levels are welcome - no previous experience is needed. Morning sessions will be more dynamic with a focus on breath, body, power, grounding. We will use the physical practise to embody the learnings on boundaries and the importance of being centered and grounded in order to be assertive and set healthy boundaries. Evening sessions will be gentler, more yin style. We will release mental activity, come back to the breath, relax, integrate the day s learnings. Karine s style of yoga is primarily Hatha yoga and accessible to all. Combining Psychology and Yoga is a unique way of learning on multiple levels - not just with the mind, but also the body. It provides the opportunity to really embody learnings in a more complete way.
