WELCOME AND PRAYER Estimated time: 5 minutes Tech: Life Point slide, Bible Verse slide People: Bible Study Leader Dear God, Thank You for all of the things You made. Thank You for the animals that live in the sea, animals that fly in the sky, and animals that live on the earth. Help us to take care of the fish, the birds, and all of the other animals. We love You and we thank You for the wonderful things You made. In Jesus name, amen. WORSHIP BIBLE STUDY LEADER Great job! I really like that SSSSSSSSSSSong and it was GRRRRRRRRRReat to hear you sing it with me. I have a question for you. Who makes a MOO sound? (cows) How about an SSSSS sound? (snake) And lastly, what about a GRRRR? (bear, dog) Have you ever seen any of those animals at a zoo? There are so many animals and different things to see when you go to the zoo. Which animal is your favorite? (Listen for responses.) Guess which animal I am pretending to be. (Swing arm by your nose like an elephant trunk; bend your arms up by side like a monkey; flap arms like a bird.) Today our Bible story is about God and how He made all of the animals. He made elephants, and monkeys, and birds. In fact, God made every animal. (Show Life Point slide.) That s right. Let s say it together. God made every animal. That means that God made every single animal that you have ever seen in a zoo. We know it is true because our Bible verse tells us that God made the animals. Let s say the verse together. Pose like your favorite animal as you say the verse. BIBLE VERSE (SELECT PREFERRED VERSION): God made the animals. CONNECTION POINT LEADER (Show Connection Point Game slide.) (Hop to front.) Today, I want to welcome you to Connection Point. Can you guess which animal I am pretending to be? (frog, rabbit, kangaroo) That s right! Today we are going to talk about animals and where they live. I need three volunteers to stand up here with me. (Choose three kids to come up. Introduce each child.) Today, our first volunteer is going to represent the sky. (Hand the child the two light blue pieces of paper. Guide him to hold the handles.) Can you move these papers like they are your wings and you are flying in the air? (Help child as needed.) Excellent job! Our second volunteer is going to represent the water. (Hand the child the two dark blue pieces of paper. Guide him to hold the handles.) Can you move these papers like they are your fins and you are swimming in the water? (Help child as needed.) Great! Our last volunteer is going to represent the land. (Hand the child the two brown pieces of paper. Guide him to hold onto the handles.) Can you move these papers like they are feet walking. (Help, as needed.) Good! OK, we are ready. I am going to call out the name of an animal. The person who thinks the animal lives in their area will move their arms. Here we go! Ŝeagle Ŝ (air) Ŝcamel Ŝ (land) Ŝshark Ŝ (water) Ŝtiger Ŝ (land) Ŝbluebird Ŝ (air) Ŝwhale Ŝ (water) Ŝdog Ŝ (land) Ŝowl Ŝ (air) Ŝdolphin Ŝ (water) Today, after we sing, we will hear how God made animals to live in the air, live in the water, and live on the land. (Lead kids to answer night for black, land for brown, sky for blue, moon for white, flower for red, and grass for green. Continue holding up each sheet of colored paper and ask for responses.) We know that God made the day, night, sky, earth, seas, sun, moon, and stars. Now let s see what God made next. BIBLE STUDIES FOR LIFE PRESCHOOL WORSHIP UNIT 1 SESSION 2 4

(Open the Bible and read Genesis 1:20-21.) Then God said, Let the water swarm with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky. So God created the large sea-creatures and every living creature that moves and swarms in the water, according to their kinds. He also created every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. On the fifth day (hold up five fingers) God made the fish that live in the seas and the birds that fly in the sky. God made turtles, fish, whales, and sharks. God made all of the animals that live in the water. God also made eagles, robins, cardinals, and parakeets. God made all the animals that fly in the sky. Do you remember how God felt about what He had made? (Open the Bible and read Genesis 1:21) And God saw that it was good. On the sixth day (hold up six fingers) God made the animals that live on the land. God made cows, horses, raccoons, and squirrels. God made all of the animals that live on the land. And, once again, the Bible tells us... (Open the Bible and read Genesis 1:25) God saw that it was good. God created the entire world in six days, and then He rested on the seventh day. (Show Life Point slide.) God made the animals on the fifth and sixth day. No matter what animal you can name, God made it. In fact, God made every animal. Let s say that together. God made every animal. Way to go! OK, can you help me name some animals that are the same colors as these pieces of paper? (Hold up the papers one at a time and lead kids to answer. Some examples are: black bear for black, elephant for brown, fish for blue, swan for white, lady bug for red, and frog for green.) (Show Christ Focus slide.) That s not the end of the story. Many years later, God sent His Son, Jesus to the earth. Jesus is the ruler over all of God s creation, including you and me. Jesus loves us and wants us to follow God s plan for our lives. Let s pray together. Dear God, Thank You for all of the wonderful things You made. Thank You for the fish that live in the sea, the birds that fly in the sky, and animals that live on the earth. But more than that, thank You for Your Son, Jesus, who came to the earth and died on the cross for us. We love You and thank You for Jesus and the wonderful things You made. In Jesus name, amen. WORSHIP SONG AND OFFERING WORSHIP Estimated time: 3 minutes Tech: Mics for singers, lights (optional) Music: Use a favorite song or download a worship song of your choice People: Worship Leader and/or Worship Team WORSHIP LEADER There are so many types of animals that God made. And one way we can thank God for the animals is to help take care of them. We can also sing and thank God for making the world. Optional Giving Segment: Another thing we do at church is give an offering. Giving an offering is a way to show God that we love Him. We give so that other people can hear about Him and about how He made the world. If you would like to give an offering today, (Give your own directions for how the kids can give their offerings.) (After collecting the offering, guide kids to stand for the remainder of the worship song.) We can sing and praise God for His creation. Stand with me. CONNECTION POINT BIBLE VERSE Estimated time: 5-8 minutes Tech: Connection Point Bible verse slide, Bible Verse slide People: Connection Point leader, all kids ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS: Place kids into three groups. Dear God, thank You for Sean Michel and for the courage he has to go to another county and tell people about Jesus. We pray that You would keep him safe.
