Salt Shakin Sisters Outreach of Hope and Encouragement Founder: Barbara Chapmond March 2007 www.saltshakinsister.simplesite.com YouTube Video Site: www.youtube.com/user/007babbs- Email Address: b_chapmond@yahoo.com

Vision Statement: Psalms 32:8 To teach women how to study Gods Word and receive revelation, encouragement, and walk in daily Joy and Victory!

Mission Statement: Hebrews 4:12 To share the Word of God in a simple manner, so all who hear it will receive wisdom, guidance, daily instructions and grow up in God's Grace. For women to acquire a desire to have a personal relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God; to get into the Word of God and walk it out ; being an example of Jesus in their daily lives. For women to connect with, encourage and support women of all faiths and walks of life.

Where did the name Salt Shakin Sisters come from? Matthew 5:13-16 You are the SALT of the earth. But if the SALT loses its SALTINESS, how can it be made SALTY again?... You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before women, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven. Start Shakin Some Salt Around Today!

11 Simple Steps Learning "How To" Spend time with your Heavenly Father and Receive Revelation from His Word. You will need the following tools: 1. A Willing Heart 2. Make an appointment with yourself and God everyday 3. Find a quiet, private place with no distractions 4. Soft Praise & Worship Music (optional) 5. Coffee / Tea 6. Bible Version you understand-ipad-iphone-computer with bible NO CHECKING OF EMAILS or TEXTING ALLOWED 7. Journal 8. Dictionary 9. Concordance & Commentary 10. Post Cards-prayer cards 11. Pencil / Highlighter Let His Word become active and operative in your life so you will have peace, power, and purpose. Plant Gods Seeds/Words in your Heart and then sow them into others as the Holy Spirit directs you. (Hebrews 4:12) bfc

LETS GET STARTED TODAY NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT! Get your Coffee, Tea, Soda, whatever you enjoy sipping on, (optional) and find a quiet place; spend a few moments praying. Ask God to help you understand what His Word says as you read. Open your Bible to a book you want to learn from for beginners, I recommend the books of: John, Proverbs, and the Psalms in the Old Testament Begin with just trying to read 2-10 verses. As you read, highlight or underline the verses that seem to be speaking to you the most. (The verses that seem to jump out at you, or jump off the page is the verse or verses you need to study / meditate upon). Now write the verses in your journal. In your journal, underline certain words in the scriptures, some that you want a better clarification of in order to better understand what the scripture is saying. If you have a little extra time try pulling out your dictionary and look those words up. Rewrite the scripture with the definitions included; you ve just amplified God's Word as the Holy Spirit of God within you has spoken to your heart. The whole purpose of this type of study, is so you learn to become more aware of what the Bible is saying to you personally, and you can take Gods Word with you; in your car, in your purse, on the mirror, on the refrigerator, anywhere you can see it and be reminded of it. Try to memorize one or two a week. Write Gods Word on your heart. Renew your mind with the Word of God. Remember one thing after you start your study, don't let the devil get you under condemnation if time passes and you haven't studied His Word. Just Start All Over Again. DISCERNMENT (UNDERSTANDING) IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DISTANCE. THAT MEANS, GETTING A LOT READ IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS EVEN READING ONE OR TWO VERSES AND REALLY GRASPING WHAT THEY MEAN. One or two verses can make a difference in Choices and Decisions you make in your life TODAY. Put your Ears On and listen for God to speak to you, He's been talking; you might not have been listening. Post the verses that speak to you in places you will review and memorize them. Get them in your heart; don't just keep them in your head. God s instructions and guidance can help you get through your trial or test today!!now you have learned how to take Gods Word from your head to your Heart and receive revelation understanding.

BF Chapmond Personal Testimony I had a Religion, I was Religious then, I got Saved. - bfc When I was a young child I had a Religion. I remember my parents taking me to church on Sundays as a family, this was a weekly routine. When I became a teenager, I had another, new Religion and I went to church with my best friend every time the doors were open. In my church going experiences I remember hoping Jesus would come when I was in church, that s because I was not sure about my relationship with Jesus, (I wasn t saved, only thought I was). I remember being religious and talking the talk. I was good at telling people what they should and shouldn t do to stay out of hell. I really thought I was saved and on the right track, you could not tell me any different!! Having an experience or seeing a light is not salvation. You must admit you're a sinner and confess your sins to Jesus and ask Him to personally come into your heart. You don t have to change first or clean up first. Just trust Him from your heart and He will do the rest, as you grow in your relationship with Him.. Before I got saved, I don t remember sharing the Love of Jesus or even leading anyone to Jesus. I was blinded by the devil and caught in the Religious Trap, like so many are. Satan also knows the Bible; he can make things Look Godly when they re not! When I was a teen, and even up until I really got saved at the age of 27, I was taught you could lose your salvation. Oftentimes, you will hear people say they are backslidden or they got saved one time, but they aren t now. They only Hope they will go to Heaven. It doesn t have to be that way; you don t have to go down that trail. When the Holy Spirit started dealing with me about salvation, I was in a church revival service. The only other people attending were church members. I thought to myself, Why are they preaching on salvation, everyone here is saved? I was uncomfortable with the preaching, so I thought, maybe God is talking to me and I need to get saved (remember, I thought I was, for years). I remember quietly, and only to myself, while sitting in the pews saying, Ok Lord Save Me amen. That didn t do anything for me. In my soul there was a black, dark space an empty place that needed something, I just didn t understand what it was. That evening, I went next door to a church members home, I sat on the floor around the coffee table and talked to her about my life. For about two hours, it was a fight in my spirit/heart, I had to give up my good deeds/works and confess I was really a sinner and needed Jesus. I remember ONE QUESTION my friend asked me, What has Jesus done for you, you told me what you ve done for Him, but what has He done for you? You talk about Jesus and the Holy Spirit getting my attention! So I prayed, gave all my good deeds to Jesus, confessed to Him I was a sinner and I needed Him to come into my heart and save me; by faith, not counting on any feelings. That s it! So simple, but it was from my HEART, not my head knowledge this time. Jesus saves one time and He seals and keeps you as His child forever. (Read the Book of Ephesians, you will understand salvation and being sealed by the Holy Spirit of God within you, a lot better. The first book written in this ministry was on Ephesians) After salvation, we need to get into Gods Word, ask Him to show us how to live, follow His instructions and bear fruit. That means there will be a change in our hearts, attitudes, friends, places we go, and things we say. The Holy Spirit will guide you.. bfc

Ephesians 6:17-18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Matthew 6:34 So don t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will brings its own worries. Today s trouble is ENOUGH for today!

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

Matthew 7:24-27 Anyone who listens to my teachings and follows it is wise like a person who builds a house on the solid ROCK

James 4:7-9 Humble yourselves to God-Resist the devil, he will flee from you!

1 Peter 5:8-9 Stay alert Stand firm against the devil.. Be strong in your faith remember, Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through same kinds of problems.

Revelations 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him and sup with him and he with me.

Matthew 6:34 34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. Why do you think God tells us not to worry? How do we accomplish such a task in this world? 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 4 We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. What are the mighty weapons we have to use? What happens when we use the weapons God has provided for us? What is something we all seem to deal with in life? (pr.) What are we suppose to capture? 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; What does warfare mean? What do we cast down and why? What do we bring captive?

2 Timothy 2:15 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. What does the word tell us to do? Why?How? Revelations 3:20 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Who is standing at the door? What does the door represent? What happens if we open the door? Revelations 3:16 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. What kind of a life does a Lukewarm Christian look like? Why do you think it makes God sick? Does this mean He doesn t love us? Are we under condemnation? How do we get over being lukewarm? Romans 10:17 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. HOW DO WE OBTAIN FAITH?

Open Discussion

Open Discussion: 1. Tony doesn t understand the nature of Elizabeth s forgiveness Have you ever wrestled with the idea of being forgiven? How? 2. How have you been changed by someone s prayers for you? 3. How have you seen change in someone else as an answer to your own prayer? 4. What difference did it make in Elizabeth s life when she discovered from where her contentment must come? 5. How did it affect her relationship with Tony? Confession is hard. It s admitting fault. Accepting guilt and responsibility. There is a step beyond confession, however repentance. It s repentance that establishes forgiveness in our relationship with God. What does the word confession mean? What does admitting mean? What does repentance mean? 1. Where have you attempted to find contentment? 2. In what areas of life have you struggled to find contentment or to remain content? 3. Read - Philippians 4:6-19 Phil 4:6-19 - Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. WHAT FOUR THINGS DO WE RECEIVE HERE? 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. WHY ARE WE TO GUARD OUT THOUGHTS SO MUCH? For I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. 14 Even so, you have done well to share with me in my present difficulty. WHAT CAN WE LEARN TO DO AND OBTAIN FROM THIS VERSE? 19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. WHAT WILL JESUS DO FOR ME?
