More Capital Campaign Dear Parishioners, You may be aware that a comprehensive campaign assessment of the en re parish is underway through the recent survey mailed to all parishioners. The purpose of this review is to prepare for our upcoming Capital Campaign. I offer sincere thanks to everyone who has taken and returned the survey. We value your thoughts shared during this process. I encourage everyone who hasn t responded yet to please do so. Next weekend I will speak at all Masses, giving you a chance to complete a shorter version of the survey if you haven t done so already. Your input will help us make informed decisions regarding our plan to build a new church at St. Benedict and address addi onal needs as part of a four-phase plan. We hope to have all surveys completed and submi ed by Tuesday, January 30. You may return your survey to the parish office or place it in the offertory basket at any of the Masses. You may also complete the survey online by going to steiergroup.com/survey, clicking on St. Benedict Parish, and entering the password: benedict2018 Thank you for coming together as a parish community and doing your part to further this process. Gratefully, Fr. Bob Binta, Pastor

Page 3 Third Sunday in Ordinary Time - January 21, 2018 A Message from Fr. Bob Dear Parishioners and Friends: I pray that you enjoyed a frui ul week and were able to take advantage of the beau ful weather we have had! For those of you who are visi ng from colder regions of the country, we are glad you are here to celebrate the Eucharist with us. In today s Gospel, Jesus calls the fishermen, Simon and Andrew, to be his disciples. These men immediately put aside what they knew to be familiar to become disciples of Christ. It couldn t have been easy for them to trust Jesus and leave everything behind. This is an important reminder to us that the Kingdom of God is right here and now: This is the me of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel. As Catholics, we must live with the same urgency and ac on as the disciples did, ac vely working to share the love and mercy of Jesus in our daily lives. Recently, our Staff came up with a wonderful idea to create a more welcoming space for all those who enter our church narthex and parish lobby. We wanted the first impression of our parish community to emulate our parish mo o, where all are welcome! We were able to fulfil this vision for our entrance, as MacGarret, Juan and Guadalupe show, thanks to the crea vity and effort of some staff members and the generosity of those who donated money toward our Parish Wish List. We hope that you find this space warm and invi ng. This new look is just a glimpse into the kind of excitement and change that is in store for us with the Capital Campaign that will provide a beau ful place of worship for our parish family. I would like to thank you, once again, for your con nued prayers and support while I am undergoing radia on treatment for cancer. I remain op mis c and comforted by my faith and this loving parish. Wishing you a blessed week. Know that you are loved and appreciated. Fr. Bob
