Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Announcements Sunday, March 16, 2014 Theme for 2014: MEETING THE CHALLENGES WITH SPIRITUAL WISDOM Matthew 10:16-26 Church-Wide Worship Service March 16, 2014: The Pastor will deliver the message for the 31 st Church Anniversary at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the West Mastin Lake Church (256.852.6228) located at 4705-B Mastin Lake Road in Huntsville, Alabama 35810. This is a Church program. The Union Chapel Deacons and ushers are requested to be on their respective posts. A Union Chapel Choir will furnish the song service. Union Chapel Monthly Men s Meeting March 17, 2014: Men Who Understand the Times and Know What to Do Class with the Pastor will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, in the Church Fellowship Hall. Celebrating the past Embracing our future in Christ (Jeremiah 29:11) May 16 & 18, 2014: Union Chapel M. B. Church will have a weekend of worship and praise on Friday, May 16, 2014, and on Sunday, May 18, 2014, celebrating 25 years of faithful service for Pastor and Sis. O. Wendell Davis. There will be a fellowship dinner at the Von Braun Civic Center, North Hall, on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. and conclude with praise and worship services on Sunday in the sanctuary at 7:45 a. m. and 10:45 a. m. The guest speaker for Sunday services will be Pastor Maurice Davis of the Tabernacle Baptist Church located in Biloxi, MS. We are encouraging all members and friends to please be in attendance at this weekend celebration of praise and worship. Let us show our love to Pastor and Sis. Davis for their continuous commitment and faithfulness to Union Chapel M. B. Church. God has blessed Union Chapel so let us bless them in a marvelous way. MEMBERSHIP SIGN-UP: To attend the dinner on Friday night, we are asking each member to please complete an invitation form. The invitation forms will be available in the Church foyer area each Sunday. Invitation forms will also be available throughout the week at the Welcome Center. SOUVENIR BOOKLET: We are asking Union Chapel Ministries, members, and friends to place an ad in the Anniversary Souvenir Booklet. This booklet will commemorate Pastor and Sis. Davis 25 years of service. One of these books will be placed in the Church Library for generations to come. Forms for the Souvenir Booklet will be available in the Church foyer area beginning on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Forms will also be available throughout the week at the Welcome Center. Collegiate/Young Adult Meet & Greet March 16, 2014: The members of the Collegiate/Young Adult Ministry will serve lunch to College Students and Young Adults on Sunday, March 16, 2014, in the Church Fellowship Hall following the 10:45 a.m. service. This activity is designed to meet and share information regarding the ministry. Community Service Project--Serving the City as One April 5, 2014: Serving the City as One is an annual event to bring the churches of Greater Huntsville and the surrounding communities together to visibly demonstrate the love of Christ through united prayer, a day of serving in the community and sharing and celebrating together God s goodness. Saturday, April 5, 2014, is our community and Church-wide day of service. Only two Sundays remain to sign up. Please sign up TODAY. The ministries of Union Chapel need every member to be involved in this mission project. We need you to PRAY, GIVE, AND SERVE. You will be asked to make donations and to render your gifts as service in the community. Caring and Sharing is Part of Serving the City as One April 5, 2014: Union Chapel's Caring and Sharing Day also referred to as Yard-Free Day will be part of Serving the City as One on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We request all Union Chapel members to please bring your new or gently used items that are no longer of use or necessity to your family to the Church front lawn. Tables will be set up for adult and children's clothes and shoes, accessories, toys, books, household items, furniture, and a host of other miscellaneous items all for free to the general public. You may drop off your items as early as 7:00 a.m. on the April 5, 2014. For more information, please contact the Church Office at 256.852.1150. Union Chapel Cancer Support Group April 7, 2014: The Union Chapel Cancer Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014, in the Church Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Minister Charlie Holley, an Associate Minister at Union Chapel M. B. Church, author and Minister of Holley Ministries. He will do Part 2: Inspiration and Healing. Time for fellowship and food will be made available. All interested persons are invited to attend. For further information, please contact Sis. Joyce Hampton, Sis. Beverly Lee, Sis. Union Chapel Singles Conference April 12, 2014: A Singles Conference presented by the Christian Education Ministry will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, in the Union Chapel M.B. Church Fellowship Hall. Presentations on topics relating to single living will be starting at 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 Noon. This conference will focus on Singles Walking in Liberty (Freedom). Other Topics include "Understanding Who You Are, What the Bible says about being single, Prayer Life, and Men/Women Time with Pastor and Sis Davis. The conference is for ages 18 and up. Please sign up at the Welcome Center not later than Saturday, April 5, 2014, so there can be a count for material, breakfast, and lunch. Breakfast will begin at 8:00 a.m.

Attention All 2014 Spring Graduates both High School and College (2 yr. & 4 yr.) April 16, 2014: Please complete a "Graduate Information Survey" form that is located at the Welcome Center before Wednesday, April 16, 2014, and then place the completed survey form back into the envelope. We are finalizing plans for our Graduate Breakfast and our Graduate Recognition Sunday. Remember you must be a member of Union Chapel M. B. Church to participate in the recognition ceremonies. You may contact Bro. Wilbert Brown or any member of the Education Assistance Ministry for additional information. Members who graduated in December 2013 are also eligible to participate. Scholarship Opportunity April 30, 2014: The men of Psi Kappa Kappa Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Madison and Redstone Arsenal via its Youth Friendship Foundation, Incorporated is now accepting scholarship applications for 2014. Since 2006, the Youth Friendship Foundation has awarded approximately $216,000 to 86 students in Madison and Limestone Counties to pursue college educations. All high school seniors planning to attend college in the Fall 2014 are encouraged to apply by Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Applications are available upon request from any Omega Psi Phi PKK Chapter. Walter Cade Jr. Workshop July 25-27, 2014: The 2014 Walter Cade Jr. Workshop will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, through Sunday, July 27, 2014, in Memphis, TN. Workshop topics will include: Biblical Womanhood, Christian Stewardship, Christian Evangelism, Deacon Ministry, Youth for Christ, Biblical Daughters, Pastoring in the 21st Century, and Proper Church Etiquette. Housing forms are available at the Welcome Center in the Church foyer area. The deadline to submit the Housing form is Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Church transportation will be provided. Health and Wellness Union Chapel Wellness Ministry March 23, 2014: The Union Chapel Wellness Ministry will celebrate National Nutrition Month during the month of March. This year s theme is Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right. We are asking the congregation for their participation in this celebration. On Sunday, March 23, 2014, please wear an item of clothing that represents the color of your favorite fruit or vegetable.
