St. Paul s Episcopal Church All are welcome, no exceptions! St. Paul s Mission Statement: We are called to gather around the sacred story and table of Christ where all are invited to be fed and everyone s story matters. St. Paul s Vision Statement: We pray that our hearts may be opened to seek the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to be the church and the Christians that God is calling us to be. The Seventh Sunday after the Epiphany February 23, 2014, 8:00 A.M. The shield of St. Paul, an open Bible and the sword with the words Spiritus Gladius (the Sword of the Spirit) refer to St. Paul s admonition, Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)

Welcome to worship this morning! Please turn off your cell phones. During the service we stand, sit and kneel. According to your needs and comfort, please sit at any point. It is acceptable to receive only the bread or the wine. If you would rather not receive communion, you are invited to come to the rail for a blessing. Simply cross your arms over your chest and the priest will say a prayer for you. Announcements A Note to the Congregation from The Rev. Dr. Joyce Beaulieu Dearest Friends at St. Paul's: You may have wondered why you haven't seen much of me on Sundays lately. I have been working with St. Bride's Episcopal Church in Oregon, IL, and will be starting as their interim vicar March 1. This unfortunately will preclude my continuing as priest associate with you. I will continue to live in DeKalb during my time at St. Bride's, so will hopefully see you at functions around NIU and DeKalb, and we certainly won't lose touch entirely. I have enjoyed being with your congregation since last February in my role as priest associate and will pray for your continued growth in faith, as I ask your prayers for my time at St. Bride's. May God richly bless the community of faith that is St. Paul's and all your new endeavors! In faith, Joyce + The Rev. Dr. Joyce Beaulieu Join Us this Wednesday, February 26 th for Mid-Week Holy Eucharist with Prayers for Healing All are welcome to join us Wednesdays for a quiet service of Holy Communion with healing prayers.
