From Pastor s Desk Beloved, June passed by with some great events in it. Our mini crusade in Albany turned out better than I expected. In fact the Lord turned around the planning and the outcome was a blessing. I expected a healing time but He went into a repent or perish message based on Luke 13. He was also faithful in healing some as we saw. Thanking Him for what He is. The Lord has asked us and all those who heard it to pray and be in His presence even more. We closed our corporate fasting period on 10 th of June during which time the Lord has promised us the fulness of Mathew 21:22. We believe that God speaks to His church as He wants. We do not go by the letter of the Scriptures alone knowing that the letter by itself kills, but we go by the Power of God and the Person of the Lord Jesus, knowing fully well that HE is alive and capable of all that we ask of Him. So let us keep praying watching over it with thanksgiving, remembering how He has heard us in the past and led us over the devil and difficult situations. Blessings. Shiju Ninan www.prconline.org 2

Principles of Seeding - The Land. (Continued from June 2016) The land which we use to plant a seed is as important as the seed. Fruit or harvest depends on the seed and the land. Both are important. In this issue we seek the Lord s grace and power to seek the qualities of a good land. We have the story of the Sower in the synoptic gospels. Jesus taught his disciples and us too about the quality of the land in which a seed is sown and how that quality affects the final yield. Among other truths a truth stands tall. The land where the seed is seeded has a major role to play in the yield. We see the seed in four different places or types of reactions. Our Lord taught us about the kind of soil that the seed was sown into. Let us read the text below. Mark 4:1-9 - And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But Philadelphia Revival Church 3

when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 1. Way Side. Shows an unprotected area where any one can walk in. The devil comes and takes away the word. 2.Stony ground where the seed sprang up immediately because there was not much earth. The sun rose up and it withered away. 3.The thorny ground was the third place where the seed was sown and yielded no fruit but was choked up by the growing thorns. 4.The good land which yielded growth and fruit. Even today the human personality (character) in its best can be likened to one of these four. Our Lord spoke this as a parable not to condemn but to offer help so that all will be saved eternally. We are in a time of grace where God in His Mercy reaches out. He works amazingly to manifest His goodness to the Sons of men. Blessed is the man that understands the Works of God and submit to it. (To be continued) Heroes of Faith - William Carey (Continued from June 2016) Carey in India Thus the two missionaries entered the Orient for God and not for gold. They left their beloved country England, their affectionate friends and relatives to live in a strange country among strangers for they wanted to obey the commission of Jesus who had said to go to the ends of the earth to preach his good news. They couldn't disobey the loving command of their Saviour. They came to serve the poor www.prconline.org 4

and to enrich their lives. They left their professions, their country, and their people; for their eyes were set on the eternal treasures. Carey was thirty years old when he landed in Bengal, India. Carey started his work on two principles. He learnt this by the example and teaching of Christ and of Paul, and by the example of Moravian brethren. 1. A missionary must be one of the companions and equal of the people to whom he is sent 2. A missionary must as soon as possible become self-supporting and self-propagating. Living in Calcutta was expensive for the party. Within a few days they exhausted their money. The expense of living in Calcutta drove the whole party thirty miles up the river to Bandel, an old Portuguese suburb. There they rented a small house. Daily they preached and talked to the people. They purchased a boat for regular visits to hamlets, markets and towns which line both banks of the river. But there was no available land for an Englishman to cultivate. Hearing of waste land in Calcutta he returned there only to be disappointed. The Danish captain, knowing that he had written a botanical work, advised him to take it to the in-charge of the company's botanical garden, and offer himself for the vacant appointment to superintend part of it. When Carey went and met the in-charge, he told him that the office had been filled up, but invited the weary man to dine with him. Houseless, with his maddened wife and her sister and two of his four children down with dysentery, due to bad food, Carey found a friend in Nelu Dutt who offered him his garden house until they could do better. The place was mean enough but Carey never forgot the deed. Long afterwards he helped Nelu Dutt in poverty when he had the power to do so. Carey at once was preoccupied with putting into practice the Bengali he had learnt on the ship from Dr.Thomas and preaching to the Bengalis. This was, after all his passion and his life's goal. (Reprinted with permission from Eternal Life Biographies India) There are interesting things that we can observe from this account. 1. Carey began his life in the mission at a young age. He was thirty when he landed in India. Many great men and women of God start early or are put into the ministry at a young age. There are many reasons for this. Philadelphia Revival Church 5

God uses their undivided attention to teach them many things in their wholeheartedness. A full time commitment in Carey's life was manifested in his selfless travel and stay in India. We must know that he was committed to wholeheartedness even while he was in England. He did not become wholehearted after his arrival in India or because he decided to serve God. The attitude and mind set had developed years before that. Anything that we do must be in wholeheartedness; we must like what we do. It is a conscious decision. Age is not a criterion for serving God always. At any age we could develop wholeheartedness. Life and ministry can be enjoyable and blessing in prayer and thanksgiving. 2. Many servants of God have sharp and well defined ideologies in life. Two of the following was believed by Carey. A missionary must be one of the companions and equal of the people to whom he is sent. I have heard a story about a man of God who once asked Jesus why HE always spent time in the hills and forests in the nights praying when he could have spent money for a lodge or stay in homes. He heard the Lord saying that the Lord would not stay in a comfort which the flock that supported HIM could not afford. This is a good ideology, though not absolute. Many of us who desire to serve the Lord whole heartedly must consider the above ideology in the light of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. A missionary must as soon as possible become selfsupporting and self-propagating. This is also an ideology that must allow the same treatment as the previous one. In our times many servants of God are tied down to denominations and what they offer. They must realize that God s plan to sustain them need not always come from the denomination that they serve but from the provision and ways of God. One thing is required and that is that a man of God never becomes a burden for a Church. May this wisdom transcend to all of us and our children in the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. www.prconline.org 6

3. We see the mention of a name; Moravian Brethren as them that had an influence on William Carey. Who were the Moravian brethren? (To be continued) Professions of Faith Revelations 3:8 - I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. We see the Lord Himself testifying of the church at Philadelphia. They had kept HIS word and had not denied HIS name. This is a very good matter for us to follow. Hearing God s word increases our faith and keeping it must become our passion. The matter of keeping the word can be seen in the gospel of Mathew, Mark and Luke where our Lord Jesus teaches us about the sower and his seed. We are to be like those who receive the word in a good heart and bear fruit. The church at Philadelphia was of a good and their noble heart developed from the following, They were keeping the Word. They never denied the name of the Lord. They had kept the word of patience. Their reward was Awesome. They were to be exalted over their enemies. The Lord would keep them from the hour of temptation that would come over the whole world. They were faithful in keeping the word. When we profess God s Word spoken to us, our hearts and minds begin to develop HIS character and charisma in us. We become Christ minded and Word oriented. Philadelphia Revival Church 7

Here is Romans 6 for us. The text below is from King James Version and the required professions are in italics. Romans 6 - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? I shall not continue in sin. I am dead to sin. - Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. I have been baptised into Jesus Christ and into HIS death. So that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so I also will walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: I have been planted in the likeness of his death and I shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. I know that my old man is crucified with HIM so that the body ( government or system) of sin Might be destroyed. As shown above please go through the 6 th chapter of Romans and make it personal. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. www.prconline.org 8

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
