The apostle Paul was forced to rebuke the saints at Corinth strongly. Through that rebuke, God granted them repentance.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

A Spirit of Restoration A Study of Psalms 51 Psalms 51:1-19 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. INTRODUCTION: Galatians 6:1-3 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. We find here that we are to not only forgive, but also restore a brother taken in a fault. Many times though, there is a lacking of a spirit of restoration in the offenders heart hindering a restoration. FORGIVENESS is to be offered without exception. RESTORATION is earned! Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Acts 26:20 that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. HOW TO BE RESTORED: I. Recognize the Hidden Sin The SPIRIT OF RESTORATION (3) For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Psalms 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: CONTEXT: Hatred yet he wanted God to make sure no bitterness was rooted inside Psalms 139:21-24 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. ANYTHING IN OUR LIFE CAN HARBOR HIDDEN SIN: Anger is not sin but can quickly lead to it! Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Money is not sin but it too quickly leads to it! 1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Proverbs 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Proverbs 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. Don t make money your goal! Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Judging is not sin but quickly leads to it! Judge not 1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. Judge, but don t judge motives:

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. ALWAYS JUDGE YOURSELF FIRST: Matthew 26:21-22 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? Hatred is not sin but quickly leads to it! Psalms 139:22 I hate them with perfect hatred: Giving is not sin but quickly leads to it! Matthew 6:1-4 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. CONCLUSION: Let us search ourselves for any hidden sins! Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

II. Repent of the Hidden Sin (4) Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: As God reveals your sin to you, WHICH HE WILL, it is then up to your to repent! Malachi 3:7-8 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. If you genuinely want to know your faults, He will show them to you. But you must take that next step REPENT DISCOVERING YOUR HIDDEN SINS: A. SEARCH SINCERELY How many of the sins of the Pharisees did Jesus ever really reveal? Not many Ie the rich man who kept all the commandments Jesus told home, Okay, keep them! B. SEARCH CONTINUALLY Be constantly on the lookout for secret sins. Three Steps of Repentance: Act 26:19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 1. Biblical repentance involves Sorrow (repent) II Corinthians 7:9-10 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 2. Biblical repentance involves Separation (turn to God) John 5:14; 8:11 3. Biblical repentance involves Submission (works meet for repentance) I Thessalonians 1:8-9 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor

handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. Repentance is not preached much anymore! Repentance for salvation is Repentance from UNBELIEF REPENTANCE after salvation is for a clean conscience before God! I John 1:3-9 Fellowship with God is tied to repentance! 1 John 3:18-22 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. Repentance is most often refered to the unbeliever getting saved, yet 8 times in the book of revelation THE CHURCH is told to REPENT! Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Revelation 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Revelation 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. REPENTANCE IS for you and I! Conclusion: Let us not only (1) Recognize our Hidden sin, but also (2) Repent!

III. Renew Heart and Spirit (10) Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. There should be a longing and desire to renew what was lost! The biggest loss when sin is dwelling in out hearts is our personal communion with Christ! A LONGING FOR RENEWAL: Lam 5:19-21 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. 20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? 21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. One of the most popular verses on RENEWAL: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. LOOK at the of that context popular verse: HIDDEN SIN Isaiah 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Conclusion: (1)Recognize you hidden sin, (2) Repent and THEN and only then (3)RENEWAL begins to take place: Hence our next point RESTORE

IV. Restore Happiness in Salvation (12) Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; Too many of us become complacent and satisfied with our mediocre relationship. Where are the old Christians crying RESTORE!!!!? Isaiah 42:22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. FULL JOY ONLY FOILLOWS THE RENEWAL OF HEART AND SPIRIT! A. Living A Separated Life 1 John 1:4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, The key to RESTORING Joy is FELLOWSHIP, or a renewal of Heart and Spirit! There is no joy in the Christian life when sin is present! We deceive our own selves when we kid ourselves into thinking sin will bring us pleasure. Sin does just the opposite. SIN TAKES OUR JOY, IT DOES NOT BRING US JOY! What was David s cry after committing sin? Psalms 51:12 - Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. B. Having A Prayer Life John 16:23-24 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: (no fellowship = no full joy) ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. C. Living a Fruit-filled Life John 15:1-11 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (FELLOWSHIP) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. CONCLUSION: LET THE SUN SHINE AGAIN: I remember the time when I first knew the Savior, When the sunlight of blessing so flooded my heart, Oh the sweetness of "first love," with Jesus so near me, and I thought such devotion would never depart. Chorus Let the sunshine again, Let the flow'rs bloom again; Stir the embers of love in my heart! Holy Spirit reprove, then embrace me again; Let the sunshine again in my heart! Then how sweet were the Scriptures, they spoke to me daily, How they guided my steps; but my zeal did not last, And the sweet place of pray'r where I met with my Savior, I neglected, and so soon my joys were all past. Oh, I loved will to walk in the way with God's children, When we net with glad heart in a fellowship sweet. But the pull of the flesh and some worldly companions, In the paths of sin's pleasure attracted my feet. Lord, I come now again for forgiveness and blessing, As Thy penitent child I am seeking Thy peace. For the blood paid my debt and Thy Spirit within me, Bids me come to my Father, my wand'ring to cease.

V. Reward in the Harvest of Souls (13) Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Sinners being converted is a sure sign of God s power and presence! Spirit is better than service! Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. Carnal Because They Focused On The: Method How Soulwinning, Preaching, Singing, Church, Programs Men - Who Pastor, Teacher, Missionary 1 Corinthians 1:25-29 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. Yet They Should Have Focused On Means GOD God Gives the Increase John 15:1-5 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. WE SHOULD DO WHAT WE DO FOR THE LORD NOT FOR RESULTS!!!!!!!

Esther 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. As goes our relationship with God, so goes our Christian Life. Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: Proverbs 4:4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Proverbs 4:21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. When our heart is right, our relationship with God is right, when our relationship with God is right, souls are saved!!!!!

VI. Rejoicing in Heaven with the Saviour (19) Pleasing God ought to be our ultimate desire! Why are we here? What was the purpose of our creation? Isaiah 43:7 gives us the answer ever so clearly as it states, Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Revelation 4:11 we find, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Our purpose in this life and even for all eternity can be summed up as this, to glorify the Lord God Almighty. That is our purpose and that is our main thing. You and I were created with this one purpose in mind. We were not created to go soulwinning but to glorify God. This is the sole reason of our existence. I Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. But not only are we created to give God glory, we are also redeemed (bought back) to give God glory. I Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. What Makes God Happy?... A Sinner Getting Saved! A. Sowing the Seed brings God glory John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Ezekiel 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? Ezekiel 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Saint Sharing Salvation (Preaching)

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. EXAMPLE : LUKE 15 There is JOY in the SINNER There is Joy with the SAVIOUR! Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. There is JOY in the Soul winner Luke 15:1-3 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. 3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying, Luke 15:4-6 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:8-9 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? 9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Luke 15:11-22 And he said, A certain man had two sons: 12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. 17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. 20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: Luke 15:23-25 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. 25 Now his elder son 25-31 was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. (28) And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. 29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: 30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. 31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. Luke 15:32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. God used each of these parables to explain what makes Him happy. Are you excited when a sinner is saved? B. Separation and Sanctification brings God glory

I Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. C. Singleness with the Saints brings God glory Romans 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. D. Submitting to the Scriptures- brings God glory II Thessalonians 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: E. Satisfaction in Spirit brings God glory II Corinthians 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. F. Suffering for the Saviour-brings God glory I Peter 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
