New Evangelization Corner Dear Friends, Ever since I was a little girl I ve had the tendency to be in a rush; always impatient and in a hurry to accomplish the next thing. In grade school, I even skipped whole chapters in assigned reading when the story moved too slow. And growing up, I started many fights with my sisters because I would fast-forward boring parts of movies. Holy Week is upon us, and with it comes a plethora of liturgical services to attend and family gatherings to prepare for. It will be our natural inclination to rush through these sacred days to get to the point of it all: Easter. The Church, however, intentionally gives us the Triduum to meditate upon the sacred mystery of Christ's passion and resurrection. The Triduum is comprised of three commemorative events celebrated as one single liturgy continued over three days: the Evening Mass of the Lord s Supper on Holy Thursday, Good Friday of the Lord s Passion, and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday evening. It's important to remember that each part of the Paschal Mystery is an essential part of the whole story. We do ourselves a great disservice by fast-forwarding parts we don't like. We can only be Christ's mystical Body if we follow him in every regard, without picking and choosing what aspects of his life we wish to experience. This week, let's be present to the rich mysteries before us. Let's resist the temptation to rush through the longer liturgical services so we can get on to the next one. Let's fully unite ourselves to Christ in His passion and death so we can share in the glory of His resurrection ~Kristin Molitor Sunday Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday This Week s Events March 25th Palm Sunday All Saints-St. Mary s Basement 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.catholic United Financial and St.Joseph Council Matching Grant Breakfast March 26th All Saints St. Mary s Adoration Immaculate Conception 7:00 p.m. Women s Prayer Group St. Stanislaus 9:30-10:30 a.m. All Cluster Listening Session March 27th Immaculate Conception 6:00 p.m. All Cluster Listening Session March 29th Holy Thursday March 30th Good Friday March 31st Holy Saturday St. Stanislaus Adoration All Saints-St. Mary s Basement 8:00 a.m. Men s Group April 1st Easter Eucaristic Adoration Every Monday All Saints-St. Mary s 8:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m. Every Saturday St. Stanislaus Kostka 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Daily Mass Eucharistic Adoration is also held for one hour following daily Mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is a service of prayer, song, scripture and candles. All are welcome. Prepare for the Feast of Divine Mercy by starting the 9 day Novena on Good Friday From 1931 to 1938 Our Lord revealed the secrets of His great mercy to St. Faustina. He designated the first Sunday after Easter as the Feast of the Divine Mercy of God. In preparation of this Feast, He asked that a Novena be started on Good Friday, a Novena which asks for prayers each of the nine days for a different group of souls in order to immerse them in the sea of God s Mercy! Mass, Confession, Communion are required on Mercy Sunday, the first Sunday after Easter. Our Lord promised to the souls who follow these requests a complete remission of sin and punishment! Our Lord thus instructed Sister Faustina: My daughter, speak to the whole world of My incomprehensible Mercy. I desire that the Feast be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, especially for poor sinners. The very depths of My Mercy will be opened on that day. I will pour out a sea of graces upon those souls that will approach the font of My Mercy. Those who go to confession and receive Holy Communion on Mercy Sunday, the first Sunday after Easter, will obtain complete remission of sins and punishment. Let no soul fear to come to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. Tell ailing mankind to draw close to My Merciful Heart and I will fill it with peace. Mankind will not find peace until it turns with confidence to My Mercy. www.tldm.org/news4/divinemercy.htm Pamphlets for the Divine Mercy Novena can be found in the back of each of our churches.

Parish News & Events Holy week Holy Thursday and Holy Saturday will be held in Bowlus. We have a new big screen overflow entry area so there will be plenty of space for everyone who comes. This is why I only put one Mass this year on those nights. Holy Thursday: I will need 12 people to volunteer to have their feet washed. Please contact Marion Leners so that we have some from each parish any age. Also, this night is about the Eucharist, so if there are any servers who want to serve from any of our parishes, please pick up a server outfit from your Parish and be ready and vested in the Sacristy by 7:45 p.m. The more the merrier! We will also invite Eucharistic ministers from all our parishes to participate in the Procession after Mass inside the church. There will be time to pray in the church until 11:30 p.m. after Mass. Holy Saturday: Bishop Kettler has asked All parishes to not start before 8:30 p.m. this year because of sundown so late in the day. So there will be a fire outside of the church at about 8:00 p.m. and you are welcome to stand outside as we prepare for the Vigil. There will be an Easter Party of refreshments and snacks following the vigil at St. Stanislaus, Bowlus. Easter Morning at Arban: This is an outdoor Mass so bring your own chair and dress warm. It is a more intense time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving than Lent. Please come and participate! Open Parish Cluster Listening Sessions We will be scheduling two meetings to discuss these questions: 1. What does it mean to have a quality parish life? 2. What resources does a parish need to have that quality of life? 3. How can we sustain 131 parishes with a projected 57 priests under the age of 70 as we look to the future? 4. How do we maintain a Catholic presence in the 16 counties, 12,500 square miles, of the Diocese of St. Cloud? 5. What makes your parish special? 6.What substantial recommendation do you have for future planning in your parish or parish cluster? The Bishop has asked us to reflect on these in light of the shortage of Priests in the next 5 years. You will be able to voice your opinion at this meeting and/or turn in the answers to the questions so we can deliver them to the Bishop. Please pray about these.: 1st Meeting: Monday, March 26th at 9:30-10:30 a.m. St. Stanislaus, Bowlus 2nd Meeting: Tuesday, March 27th at 6:00-7:00 p.m. Immaculate Conception, St. Anna Look here for suggestions for our MinisTree Program. When completing a task fill out one of the MinisTree cards found in the back of church and turn it into the Central Office or collection basket.
