MUSIC NOTES Last Sunday, we were able to recognize Leah Joyner and Rachel Wallace, our college graduates. Well done! This week, the choir will dedicate our song during the offering to our graduates, Monuments. Are we doing a good job leaving monuments behind for our youngest members and friends to find their way home. This song is based partly on the words of Joshua 4. The anthem today is a fun song based on Isaiah 59. God s arm is not too short to do anything! He is all powerful and wise. This song has a great Caribbean beat. Enjoy! BIRTHDAY FUNDS Birthday and Anniversary offering for July will be taken up Sunday, July 1. Help support the Pastor s Discretionary Fund. CHOIR NEWS Choir practice moves to Sunday mornings at 9:30 for the summer! If you d like to sing some great and fun songs during the summer season, just come each Sunday morning that you are in town at 9:30 and we ll go over the songs we ll be singing in the worship service. Come join in you don t have to be a professional, just like to sing God s praise! WORSHIP COMMITTEE On Thursday, June 14, the Worship Committee and anyone interested will be traveling to The Grove, a Presbyterian Church on Harris Blvd. to meet with Pastor Kate Murphey and others to see how they have worked to revive their church. We ll enjoy eating at their community meal and then have an opportunity to talk about the exciting work they are doing in their community. We ll plan to leave LPC at 5:30 PM. All are invited CARE OUTREACH GROUP In a desire to expand our outreach to the community, LPC is considering providing divorce and separation support to those in need. Several facilitators with with experience related with divorce and separation, or an interest in showing compassion to those hurting will be needed. Materials for facilitation provided by curriculum. This is 13 week course and possibly start this fall. Please see Michael Longhurst or Amy Bates for questions. Call to Confession Silent Prayer of Confession Corporate Prayer of Confession: Holy One, you are the Source of Life and Giver of Gifts. In your grace you give us skills and passions with which to serve the church and world, proclaiming your goodness. Yet too often we left what you've given us lie dormant; we are hesitant or fearful, and fail to trust your Spirit's leading. Forgive us, God. Help us to see your Spirit's movement within us and others, so that we might more fully celebrate and participate in your Kingdom's work. In Christ's name and for His sake we pray, amen. Assurance of Grace Rev. Amo *Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end, Amen, Amen. *Affirmation of Faith: Apostle's Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting. Amen.
