Integrated health and wellbeing This is a wonderful opportunity to take time out from your busy life and focus on yourself. You will learn how to influence physical health to enhance your mood, energy and emotions; gain clarity about what you really want; stop struggling and live your life with ease; be true to yourself; let go of fear; develop an unshakeable belief in yourself, and find a sense of peace, harmony and balance in your life. Many methods focus on just one aspect of being human, whether it is the spiritual, the emotional, the physical or the mental. It is unusual to find an approach that works with all of these aspects. Body Balance is one-stopshop for integrated mind, body and emotional health. I believe we are divine sparks of energy in a dense physical body, fused with a mind and emotions that, at a primal level, are hard wired for survival. The body, mind and emotions are intrinsically linked. As well as what we eat, breathe and drink, our repetitive thoughts, subconscious beliefs and feelings have a direct effect on the biochemical and genetic functioning of the body and therefore on our physical, mental and emotional health. Calm the busy mind One of the most common complaints of this century is an inability to switch off the mind, especially nagging mind chatter which stems from our subconscious conditioning. It is at the level of the subconscious that we develop our identity, our beliefs and fears about who we are and our intrinsic value or self worth. Even those who had a relatively loving and normal upbringing have received layers of negative programming during their younger years. It is sometimes hard to remember who we really are. The result is that we suffer from varying degrees of crippling self doubt. All of which has a profound effect on the way we see ourselves, our self image. Without a core belief that we loveable, good enough and already wise, it is easy to end up feeling empty, alone and anxious. To suppress these uncomfortable feelings we sabotage ourselves through food, drink, relationships, money, jobs, smoking We have also developed a hyperactive, nagging mind to stop ourselves getting to know ourselves better, because we fear what we may find there! The transformational coaching experience As most of us are stuck in our minds, Transformational Coaching engages the power of the mind itself, as well as your emotional guidance system (EGS) to help you integrate all the parts of your mind, your body and your emotions. I help you pull out all the threads from the jumble of thoughts, beliefs and feelings that go round and round in your head. Other tools in the transformational coaching tool kit draw from many different aspects of coaching practice, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), eastern philosophy, new age mysticism and ancient spiritual teachings. It is an integrated smorgasbord of wisdom and learning into which you can delve and take what works best for you. During the workshop retreat I will use a number of teaching methods, including group work, guided visualisations, physical tension releasing and fun stuff done to music. My aim is that you leave equipped to begin the process of self-enquiry, self-belief and liberation from your over busy mind. 2

The format The workshop retreat runs for five days from 6 10 March. There will be a total of twenty hours of tuition and coaching over the five days. You will learn: How blood sugar affects brain biochemistry to create either a busy or a calm mind How the digestive system plays an important role in brain biochemistry via leaky gut, food allergies and intolerances How eating for your metabolic type stops food intolerances or allergies which can have a toxic affect on brain function How hormone balance, toxic chemicals and nutritional deficiencies have an important influence on brain function, mood and energy How to use the power of the mind to recognise self-sabotaging habitual thought and behaviour patterns, whether with food or in other areas of life How to pull out the threads from the jumble of thoughts, feelings and (over)reactions, and create different thought and emotional tracks in the brain How to bypass the conscious mind and go deep into subconscious fears and beliefs about yourself, to face your demons and be at peace with them How to tune into your intuition and your EGS (emotional guidance system) to help you live life fearlessly and with joy As well as my own work with you, I am planning to include one or two yoga sessions with a local teacher and an introduction to herbal medicine and toxin-free toiletries produced in Cyprus. These will held during the afternoons around 4 pm. Take time for contemplation, self-pampering and do what you feel I encourage you to take time for yourself for contemplation and to process what you are learning. Pamper yourself with a massage, reflexology or facial, if it makes you feel good. Benefit too from the group energy and input around the pool, over dinner, taking a stroll along the beach, sightseeing The week is yours to totally relax and do what feels right. I support you in tuning into your needs and honouring them. So, if you don t feel like being with people, take time on your own and if you want the group energy, nourish yourself with it. I strongly believe that the route to the soul is through comfort, fun and self nurturing. When you laugh, sing and dance, you shrug off all the heavy mind stuff and create a lightness of being. For me the whole week has been superb. The real value is motivation and belief and I have the tools now. Carolyn, you are a wonderful, inspiring teacher and you have motivated me. Thank you. Time: 08.45 to 14.00 (includes buffet lunch at 13.00) Flights Brussels charter flights depart 5 March and return 12 March It is important to check your own country s charter flights to Cyprus. Body Balance Photo album Probably the most important part of the week for me, after Carolyn s expert guidance, was the group sharing. Often when unsure of my reaction or unable to pinpoint my feelings, someone else would nail it and that would bolster my confidence to put myself out there warts and all.
