Extracts from Bennekerry N/S Newsletter Sport County Champions: Well done to our Girls Football Team which won the County Final of the Cumann na mbunscol Competition. This was a terrific achievement and cause for great excitement in the school. The girls beat the Gael Scoil in the final to emerge as the winners. Thanks to Mr. Corcoran and Ms. Tomlinson for all their efforts with the team. Primary Schools Cross Country Competition: -The school achieved great success in this event when forty pupils competed and returned to the school with twenty- one medals between them! Schools Show Jumping Competition: Our School Team came 5 th in the recent Primary School Competition in Newbridge. We greatly appreciate sponsorship from Eddie McGarry who very kindly presented a set of numnahs to the school. (In case you re wondering what a numnah is it s a type of blanket which is placed under the saddle!) Swimming: Well done to Daniel Culleton who won a gold medal for swimming in the County Carlow finals of Community Games. A Warm Witty Short Christmas Story It was the day after Christmas at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Borden, Kent, England. Father John, the vicar, was looking at the nativity scene outside when he noticed the baby Jesus was missing from the figures. Immediately, Father John's thoughts turned to calling in the local policeman but as he was about to do so, he saw little Nathan with a red wagon, and in the wagon was the figure of the little infant, Jesus.
