MARCH 1-4, 2017 WEDNESDAY Jesus gave his life for me - Sacrifice Scripture: Philippians 2:5-8 That I might know the value of sacrifice and give up something to show my love for God. Jesus lives Scripture: Luke 24: 1-7 That I might know that Jesus lives in my heart. I must live so that others can see Jesus in me Scripture: Matthew 5: 16 That I will develop the attitudes and behaviors that reflect the Christ in me. I cannot serve God and money Scripture: Luke 16:13 That I will develop the right attitude towards money. God sustains me and not my money. REFLECTION
MARCH 6 11, 2017 MONDAY Thankfulness to God Scripture: Luke 17: 12-19 That I will give thanks for all things. Let My Light Shine Scripture: Matthew 5: 14-16 That I will live daily to bring God glory. WEDNESDAY Listen to Know God s Voice Scripture: John 10: 2-5 That I will be silent enough to hear God s Voice Remember what Jesus did for me Scripture: Luke 22:19 That I remember that Jesus loved me so much that he died for me. Jesus suffered for me Scripture: Matthew 26:67 That I remember that Jesus paid the price for my sin. Scripture: Isaiah 1:18b The blood of Jesus cleanses. Get the Red Out That I might name which of my sins is covered by the blood. From what am I being delivered? REFLECTION
MONDAY Cling to the good, release the bad. Scripture: Romans 12: 9b, Hebrews 12: 1 For courage to make the tough choice. I must show love for God by keeping his commandments. Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5-7, John 14: 15 That I will never be ashamed of living for God. WEDNESDAY God gives me commandments. Scripture: Matthew 28: 18-20, Mark 10: 19 That I reflect on God s commandments to me. LENT OBSERVANCE FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 13 - MARCH 18, 2017 Scripture: Romans 12: 4-5 I belong to the body of Christ, I can make a difference. That God will give me the will and determination to make a difference. I might be bruised, but I m not broken. Scripture: Matthew 26: 69-75, 2 Corinthians 4: 9 That I focus on my possibilities, not my problems. Today I will seek a special closeness to Christ. Scripture: John 12: 20-21, Matthew 6: 33, Isaiah 26: 3-4 That I will feel the presence of Christ in my life today.
MARCH 20-25, 2017 MONDAY Jesus has prepared a place for me in Heaven. Scripture: John 14: 2-3 That I might live to be worthy of my Heavenly reward. I must find eternal fulfillment in God rather than in worldly pleasures. Scripture: Acts 20: 21, Matthew 6: 19-20 That I might gain strength to withstand temptations and trials. WEDNESDAY God s power cannot be limited or contained. Scripture: Matthew 27: 62-66, Matthew 19: 26 That I might always acknowledge God s power over life and death. I must run with patience and determination the race that is before me. Scripture: Hebrews 12:1, James 1: 21-22 That God will give me the will and determination to finish the race. I must love everyone in order to reflect of love of Christ. Scripture: John 15: 12-13 That I will love others as Christ has loved me. I must always live by the Golden Rule. Scripture: Luke 6:31 That God will grant me the grace to always treat others as I wish to be treated.
MARCH 27 - APRIL 1, 2017 MONDAY I must be watchful for temptations that threaten my walk with God. Scripture: Mark 14: 37-38 I will be steadfast and unmovable in my commitment to live faithfully. Scripture: John 15: 5 I must stay connected to the Lord as my power source. That I will always remain mindful that my help comes from the Lord. WEDNESDAY I will put on the whole armor of God. Scripture: Ephesians 6: 10-17 That I realize that I am dressed for spiritual battle. I am prepared. Scripture: Matthew 7: 24-27 Hearing and obeying God firmly establishes my relationship with him. That I will be strengthened in my will to hear and obey God s voice. Christ suffered for me. Scripture: Matthew 27: 27-31 That I will give Christ thanks for the price he paid for me. I must endeavor to be more like Christ. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11: 1 That I become more Christ like in words and deeds.
APRIL 3-8, 2017 MONDAY God s Spirit is always with me. Scripture: Psalm 139: 7-12 That I will always know and sense the presence of God with me. Scripture: Proverbs 4: 25-27 I must stay on a path of faithfulness and obedience. That I will not be sidetracked by evil and temptations. WEDNESDAY I am not perfect. I am a work in progress. Scripture: Romans 3: 23 To acknowledge the area of my life where I fall short and seek forgiveness. Scripture: John 13: 4-5, 12-15 Christ has shown me how to be humble through a servant s spirit. That I will present me an opportunity to demonstrate a servant s heart. Today the Devil will not steal my joy nor destroy my spirit. Scripture: John 10: 10 That when I am under spiritual attack, I will spend time with God for protection. I must seek God for fulfillment. Scripture: Matthew 7: 7-8 That I will learn to seek God to supply my every need.
ARIL 10-15, 2017 MONDAY I will keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. Scripture: Hebrews 12:1b-2a, Isaiah 26: 3-4 That I will stay focused on God s presence in my life. I must acknowledge Christ as Savior. Scripture: Matthew 16: 15-16 I will thank God for Jesus as my Savior. WEDNESDAY I will introduce somebody to the goodness of God. Scripture: Mark 2: 2-5, Matthew 5: 16 That God will give me the courage, strength and opportunity to be a witness. I have so many blessings from God. Scripture: Psalms 127: 3-5a I will name my blessings and thank God for them. My path to heaven is paved with belief and obedience in Christ. Scripture: Romans 10: 9-10 That I will cherish my relationship with Christ, He is my path to heaven. I will live in eternity because Jesus lives. Scripture: John 14: 1-6 That I will rejoice in knowing that Jesus has prepared my place in heaven.
