August 10 th Saturday 07.00 to 09.00 PM Samuhik Naga Devta Shani Puja Significance of Shani Shani (Saturn) is an indicator of longevity, misery, sorrow, old age and death, discipline, restriction, responsibility, delays, ambition, leadership and authority, humility, integrity, wisdom born of experience. Saturn is regarded as a planet of darkness which rules over the dark side of human nature, such as the conscience (awareness of right and wrong). Saturn is regarded to be both a giver as well as destroyer. A person who sincerely prays to Shani is blessed not only with removal of the problems and worries, but a life that one desires.

Significance of Nag Panchami Nag Panchami is celebrated on Panchami of Shukla Paksh in Sharavan Masa. This year, the festival will be celebrated on 11th August, Sunday in Hast Nakshatra. This festival is celebrated with faith and fervor. On this day, worshiping Lord Shiva, the holder of serpent, is considered auspicious. According to the astrology, the God of fifth date is Snake. As, Naag Panchami is celebrated in Sharav Maas, hence, no digging of earth is done in this month. On the day of Naag Panchami, ploughing of field, digging of foundation is not good. August 16 th Friday 06.00 to 09.00 PM Varalakshmi Vratam Varalakshmi Vratam is a festival to propitiate the goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu, one of the Hindu Trinity. Varalakshmi is one who grants boons (Varam). It is an important pooja performed by many women in the states of Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. The Hindu festival going by the name 'Vara Lakshmi Vrata' is celebrated on the Second Friday or the Friday before full moon day - Poornima in the month of Śravaṇā, also called Śawan in Hindi, which corresponds to the English months of July August. Varalakshmi Vratam is performed by married woman for the well being of all the family members, especially husband, to get progeny etc. It is believed that worshiping Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshiping Ashtalaksmi the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength.

August 20 th Tuesday Batches from 07.00 AM to 12.30 noon :- Sravan Poornima & Yajur Veda Upaakarma

UPAKARMA (AVANI AVITTAM): NATURE AND PURPOSE Upakarma (/upaakarma/) means beginning or Arambham, i.e. to begin the study of the Veda (Veda Adhyayanam). For example, Yajur Upakarma means to begin the study of the Yajur Veda. Those belonging to the Yajur Veda observe the Upakarma in the month of Sravana (August-September), on the day of the full moon (paurnami). Why begin study of the Vedas on this particular day? This auspicious day also happens to be the day when Lord Narayana took the avatara as Lord Hayagriva. Lord Hayagriva as we all know restored the Vedas to Brahma and also is the God of Knowledge.

August 20 th Tuesday Raksha Bandhan Festival :- For information only. Rakhi: The Thread of Love On the day of Rakhi, sisters prepares the pooja thali with diya, roli, chawal, rakhi thread and sweets. The ritual begins with a prayer in front of God, then the sister ties Rakhi to her brother and wishes for his happiness and well-being. In turn, the brother acknowledge the love with a promise to stand by his sister through all the good and bad times. Sisters tie Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers amid chanting of mantras, put roli and rice on his forehead and pray for his well-being. She bestows him with gifts and blessings. In turn, brothers also wish her a good life and pledges to take care of her. He gives her a return gift. The gift symbolizes the physical acceptance of her love, reminder of their togetherness and his pledge. The legends and the reference in history repeated, the significance of the festival is emphasized.

August 23 rd Friday 06.30 to 09.30 PM - Laxhmi Laksha Kumkumarchana Chanting of Lakshmi Devi s Names For Good Fortune and World Prosperity The Ripple effect of a stone thrown into a pond spreads far and wide. So is the effect of Vedic Mantras, Puja and Havans. Dhana Akarshana means attraction of Good Fortune. Veneration of Sri Devi or Lakshmi ensures Wealth, Prosperity and all that is Auspicious
