Fourth Sunday of Easter MAY 6, 2017 Living the Gospel by providing for those in need One of the core components of our Pastoral Plan is Catholic Outreach in Justice and Love. As a Catholic community we are called to be the hands and face of Jesus in our communities. One of the ways that we do this is through our annual ShareLife appeal, which provides resources to agencies serving the poor and marginalized not only in our Archdiocese, but also around the world. ShareLife is a tangible way that we can put the Gospel value to love one another as I have loved you into action, and I invite all parishioners to support the mission work of the Catholic Church by making a sacrificial gift to ShareLife. Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto. Today is ShareLife Sunday May 7, 2017 Thank you for your generosity. Guardian Angels Church Refugee Committee Over the past year, with the support of the parish council, a small refugee committee has been established at Guardian Angels as part of the diocesan-wide Project Hope Program. Our parish has been assigned a family composed of a young married couple with a nearly two-year-old daughter who will come to us from Iraq via Lebanon some time in the next few weeks or months. Although their exact arrival time is not known, it is now time for our community to prepare to welcome them. The most pressing need will be for housing and employment opportunities but they would also benefit greatly from donations of household goods and local services. If you have any leads for housing or employment or questions about donations, please call Al Curran at 705-327-0716. Summer Camp at Guardian Angels Guardian Angels is again offering a week-long daytime camp for children going into grades 1-6 from August 14-18. The cost is $75 per student for the daytime program, $100 for 2 or more children in a family and $20 for the 5 evenings. Space is limited. Registration is online and now open.
