Ranging from the ancient sites both above and below ground, to those of the head of the church Vatican City. Also included is a fantastic evening Light & Laser Show reflecting the history of this fascinating city, with the Imperial Forum as the perfect backdrop. Your guide will whisk you inside so you avoid the queues that build up, and instead enjoy the sights. With a city like Rome, queuing is almost taken for granted, so this is key to really being able to make the most of your time, and get everything achieved on your "to do" list! The Trevi Fountain is where everyone visiting Rome congregates. Remember the saying - throw one coin in the fountain to return to Rome, two to find love...three coins must be something truly special! Highlights Private Guided Tours of Coliseum, Old Forum, Palatino & Augustus Arch Avoid the queues with early access entrance to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel Private Guided Catacombs tour Historical Lights and Laser Show at the Imperial Forum 4 nights in 4 star central hotel Flights from most UK regional airports Day by Day Itinerary Day 1 Fly to Rome and Private Airport Transfer to your hotel Fly to Rome from most UK regional airports. Waiting for you in the Arrivals Hall will be your private driver to transfer you to your 4 star hotel. Feel as if you have been taken back in time following in the footsteps of the gladiators in the Coliseum. Walk through the remains of the Roman Forum viewing what was once the centre of elections, criminal trials and public speeches. Make sure to find time to see Augustus s Arch, which spanned the road between the three main temples Temple of Castor and Pollux, Caesar and Vesta. The guide will take you onto the Trevi Fountain where you can throw a coin in. One coin means you will return to Rome, two find a new love, three marriage! The tour continues onto The Spanish Steps, Via Condotti; the designer shopping street of Rome, Castel Sant Angelo and the Pantheon. Be sure to notice the demon hole in the centre of the Pantheon when the light shines through! At this point your guide will leave you to your own devices for some time at leisure. This evening head to the Imperial Forum for your Historical Lights and Laser Show. Be entertained by the history of Rome showcased by lasers against the backdrop of the Old Forum. The show lasts for around 45mins 1hr before you are free to wander back to your hotel. page 3/8

Day 3 Day at Leisure Day at leisure to explore Rome, or alternatively add one of our Optional Extras. Why not leave the city for the day and book one of our Optional Extras. A la Carte Optional Extras Rome - Private Guided Ostia Antica Ostia Antica is one of the original port harbours in the world and served Rome in times of sea trade. Lying only twenty-four kilometres from the city, your private driver will take you to the site where you guide will explain the history to you. There are splendid cypress tress, fantastic frescoes and you avoid the crowds of Rome. After the tour your private driver will transfer you back to your hotel. Price Per Person: 300 per person additional supplement includes private guide, private transfers and tours. 5hrs. Rome - Private Guided Villa d'este and Hadrian's Villa Only 30km from Rome is Villa d Este. The villa and stunning water fountains was created by Cardinal Ippolito II d Este in consolation for failing to be made pope. Explore with your private guide all 120 fountains, along with Villa Adriana and Villa d Este, now both UNESCO World Heritage sites. The gardens are a display of fountains constructed on different levels. The villas are of a Renaissance design and inspired Franz Liszt to compose Giochi d Acqua. Villa Adriana was the holiday villa of Emperor Hadrian and has an eclectic blend of Greek, Persian and Egyptian architecture. Explore the thermal baths, temples, palaces, slave quarters and underground passages, before the tour ends and your private driver transfers you to your hotel. Price Per Person: 450 per person additional supplement includes private guide, private transfers and tour. Full day. page 4/8

Day 4 Vatican Day Today your private driver will transfer you the short distance to Vatican City. Here you have an early access group tour with a guide. Arriving and getting into the Vatican before other tours and the general public are allowed inside, get to experience the Gallery of the Maps and other sights as you head to the Sistine Chapel. Get to see Michaelangelo s masterpiece at your leisure without the crowds, for it is here that your guide leaves you. You are then free to wander the sights yourself but beware for the crowds will have arrived. You will certainly be relieved you saw the Sistine Chapels before them! Marvel at the unique sculpture by Michelangelo and Bernin, the exquisite paintings by Raffaello Sanzio. Wander through the Belvedere Court. Make sure you leave some time to enjoy the Egyptian Museum, which includes artefacts from the tombs of the pharoahs, mummified remains from the Egyptian dynasty, along with Borgia apartments. Lastly, explore the Etruscan Museum. We recommend at this point you head to the Basilica of St Peter to see the most famous in the world and head of the Catholic Church. Walk back to your hotel after, or instead opt for adding in a meal at La Pergola, housed within the Vatican. A la Carte Optional Extras Rome - Papal Audience Visit If you are in Rome on a Wednesday morning, why not have an audience with the pope. He is normally available (his schedule permitting) at 10.30am and will be happy to bestow his blessing on you. In summer this blessing takes place in St Peter s Square to accommodate the masses of devotees. The pope will offer some readings and teachings in both Italian and English, before asking you to say the Our Father prayer collectively in Latin. Price Per Person: From 50 Rome - Dinner at La Pergola Restaurant at the Vatican Enjoy a lavish 6 Course Meal in the only 3 Michelin Star restaurant in the whole of Rome. The wine cellar is rich with over 53,000 bottles to suit the palate of even the most discerning customers. The meals are sourced from the very best the Mediterranean has to offer. Please note this must be booked at least 4 months in advance to avoid disappointment. Price Per Person: From 210 for a 6 Course Meal page 5/8

DAY 5 Private Transfer to the Catacombs before transfer to the airport No tour of Rome is complete without a trip to the underground catacombs. On your private transfer to the airport, take a detour for the short distance to the Appian Way, which is the entrance of the catacombs. Get to view the underground cemeteries, where Christian and Jews were buried. In the past it was usual for the families to gather here to say the funeral rites and to visit on set occasions. As overcrowding was a problem, many were buried here, dating back to before 400AD. This is certainly an eerie experience! After this your driver will take you onto the airport for your flight home after your Rome Short Break. Where You'll Stay Hotel Forum For those wanting stunning views over ancient Rome, head to the American Bar on the hotel roof, for that perfect blend of incredible views and fine dining. The hotel can boast some distinguished guests in its time including Jacqueline Kennedy, Liz Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, King Gustav of Sweden, Gregory Peck and the Dalai Lama! page 6/8

Empire Palace Hotel - Rome (4 Star) The luxury classic style rooms and suites are comfortable. The furniture is in clear cherry wood with 19th-century inspired fabrics. The bathrooms are in marble and the complimentary toiletries carry the Etrò label. Hotel Splendide Royal - Rome (5 Star) The hotel is "toutcourt", full of that warmth and familiarity found usually only among friends. Guests appreciate the richness in style and the wide spaces in distinct contrast with the typical present-day minimalism governing most new hotels' interior decor and design. The Mirabelle is considered to be among the very best restaurants in the city, directed with the class and undisputed professionalism of Bruno Borghesi. Testimonials Ingrid, our guide, was excellent in her knowledge and English speaking. We very much enjoyed her tours. In all, it was a wonderful trip with some spectacular scenery and other interesting sights. With thanks for your help and the arrangements - and a special 'thank you' to Ingrid. Lin and Robert I truly think that you operate to a very high standard. We have had unfailing help, support and kindness from everyone we ve dealt with in your organisation.
