Your summer spiritual companion is here. Summer Times A Collection of Scriptures, Meditations and Prayers by Russell J. Levenson, Jr. summer TIMES A SUMMER COMPANION summer TIMES Russell J. Levenson, Jr. A Collection of Scriptures, Meditations and Prayers Books available for sale in St. Martin s Bookstore & Gift Shoppe My friend Russ Levenson invites us to pause and ponder the gladness of God. His words are like his heart: winsome and gracious. Let him lead you into a quiet place where you will receive a gentle touch from your heavenly Father. Max Lucado, Senior Pastor of Oak Hills Church, San Antonio The traditional Anglican term for the days and weeks of summer is Ordinary Time, but this small but potent book is anything but. It is an extraordinary gift to all of us from Russ Levenson, priest and pastor. John Meacham, Former Editor and Chief of Newsweek and Executive Editor and Executive Vice President of Random House It is hoped that your summer months are, in fact, slower than all the others and you can carry this companion along to probe you into deeper, more meaningful, more restful, adventures; and... give the work that you do when you are not at rest in its proper place at God s disposal. From the introduction of Summer Times 2

BUILDING ON THE GENERATIONS BEFORE BUILDING ON OUR NEEDS TODAY BUILDING FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME Help us build St. Martin s for the families of the future. Send in your commitment card today. Thank you for your support. The need for a larger chapel to serve for baptisms, weddings and funerals was answered by architects who re-envisioned the Old Church. They saw a new Christ Chapel in the Old Church by placing a dividing wall between the altar rail and chancel area. Christ Chapel will seat 200, with 150 on the floor and 50 in the balcony. The exterior of the building will be updated to match the exterior of The Church with the addition of seven stained glass windows on each side and a rose window in the chancel. The intimacy and Gothic feel will be enhanced by special lighting and wood paneled ceiling and walls. These updates and renovations encompass 38,501 square feet. What Parishioners Are Saying About Building for the Ages This is an extraordinary project for our Parish and the surrounding community. But it s an even better opportunity to remodel and expand our love of Christ. We will strive to see very new brick, new classroom or additional pew as a moment to make more room for Christ in our lives. We strongly support Building for the Ages for St. Martin s and make Christ for the ages a reality for our hearts. Stephanie and Ted Carpenter Commitment cards and return envelopes are available in church pews and information racks. For more information and to watch our new campus fly-through video, visit stmartinsepiscopal.org/building-for-the-ages. 9
