First, giving honor to God who is the Giver of all good things: to Aubrey K. Barlow Deputy, Roland G. Simon Grand Senior Warden, Steven R. Coleman Grand Junior Warden, Past Grand Masters, All Elected and Appointed Grand Lodge Officers, Past Masters, Worshipful Masters, Wardens and Brethren. Fraternal Greetings, Please find the enclosed Proclamation announcing the 151 st Annual Communication of the MWPHGLIL, and that ANY activities taking place during the entire Unification Session must be cleared through the Grand Director of Sessions Worshipful Brother Kenneth Johnson. This will ensure that there will be no conflict with events planned by the Grand Lodge. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Brothers of the 4 th Masonic District who were instrumental in organizing the Headstone Ceremony at the grave site of Isaac H. Kelly the 2 nd Most Worshipful of the State of Illinois. Your hard work, foresight and diligence resulted in a truly outstanding event, which in addition to honoring one of our founding fathers, surely aided in presenting Prince Hall Masonry in a positive light to the Citizens of Alton Illinois. Additionally, I want to personally thank those who went above and beyond the extent of their cable-tow in order to ensure that some complications with my transportation were taken care of in a timely manner. It was a true display of Brotherly Love and I am eternally appreciative. The month of June will bring Saints John s Day where we will pay homage to the Patron Saints of Free Masonry, St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist. I am in hopes that this will be one of our biggest and well-attended events of this year, in keeping with our commitment to make ourselves visible, we will partner with other community organizations and be in procession through the neighborhoods on our way to worship. I am requesting that every member of the Masonic family who is able, not only to join us for this momentous occasion, but to also invite family and friends to participate and witness Prince Hall Masonry at its finest. Please find the church locations and assembly times attached. This month will also have the Grand Lecturer s final workshop of the year. It will take place at the Grand East on Monday, June 12 th. The Grand Lecturer is also announcing a Burial Ceremony Contest at the Grand East on June 24 th at 2pm. Contestants will be judged on content and delivery. Cash Prizes and Trophies (as well as bragging rights) will be awarded to the winner. Contact RW Bro Stafford at 312 714 8136 to register. On Father s Day we will come together and celebrate fatherhood and family at our 1 st Annual Fathers Day Cookout. There will be healthy cooking demonstrations, music, and games. Please come out and join us and bring your grills, lawn chairs, family and friends. The Month of June Is National Gun Violence Awareness Month. Gun violence kills more than 90 Americans each day. To call attention to this fact we will join in solidarity with the other Prince Hall Grand Lodges in the Midwest region and other like-minded organizations in wearing the color orange on June 2 nd and at other designated times throughout the month. Visit WearOrange.org.

Finally Brothers a reminder.. We are a SERVICE organization. If we are not performing in service we are not fulfilling our obligations. Again, the two committees that are nearest to my heart are Charity and Community Involvement. These committees speak to everything that we, as Masons, have sworn ourselves to. It is for this reason that I have asked that every Lodge in the State have representation on those committees. To this point that has not happened; I am therefore, Once again, reiterating my request that all Junior Wardens serve on the committee on Community Involvement and all Senior Wardens serve on the committee on Charity so that all Lodges will be represented. Junior Wardens please contact Brother Hassan Tremble-El at (773) 669-8594 and Senior Wardens please contact Brother Tim Davis at (773) 491-0041 with your contact information so that you can be added to the committees. Please take due notice, and govern yourselves accordingly. Yours in Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, Dwayne A.
