You Are Invited to Join the Church Ambassador Program In Christ, we are called to be ambassadors for God s Kingdom. As followers of Christ, we are asked to care for the needs of the poor. Therefore, we invite our community churches and fellow servants to prayerfully consider partnering with Buffalo City Mission on behalf of the poor; to be voices of hope in our church community for Gods glory as we serve to meet the needs of the poor and homeless!
Who are the Church Ambassadors? Church Ambassadors are individuals who represent their church, gather in unity as the body of Christ in partnership with the Buffalo City Mission to support through prayer and needed donations to meet the spiritual and practical needs of the poor and homeless. Church Ambassador Application Process Read through the packet Fill out the application Return to the Volunteer Manager in the Volunteer Department at 100 E Tupper, Buffalo, NY 14203 The Volunteer Department will reach out to your church and share the program with the Pastor and or the Missions Committee for their review The Church s decision will give us direction as to how to proceed with the partnership for the Ambassadors Program Confirmation letters will be sent to the Church contact (Pastor and or mission committee) and the individual Ambassador
Our Purpose Welcome to the Buffalo City Mission s Church Ambassador Program We are therefore Christ s ambassadors as though God were making his appeal through us 2 Cor. 5:20 To increase community awareness of issues related to homelessness and poverty and the ways the Buffalo City Mission addresses the issues through our programs and services. Our Philosophy Christ calls us to be ambassadors for His kingdom. As His followers, we can reflect the message of His love and salvation as we care for the needs of the poor. Buffalo City Mission s Church Ambassadors are the voice of hope on behalf of the poor to the community of Western New York. What s it All About Ambassadors attend 4 breakfast meetings which are held at and hosted by the Buffalo City Mission. These free gatherings provide a time of fellowship and unity as brothers and sisters in Christ, prayer, and together with the Lord s direction we labor to meet future needs of the homeless. The mission will provide tools such as quarterly church newsletter titled The Open Heart, fliers for upcoming events and other materials that help the ambassador relay information about ways that their church can become actively involved in serving the needs of the poor. Buffalo City Mission s volunteer Church Ambassadors update their churches about homelessness and poverty and the opportunities provided through our men s ministries, women and children ministries and community outreaches. Church Ambassador s Role Church Ambassador s Role and Responsibilities Church ambassadors are liaisons between Buffalo City Mission and the believers in our communities. They are a significant part of the success of our Mission. Church Ambassadors help recruit volunteers, initiate prayer support, coordinate donation drives and can help with monitary support. Church Ambassadors are walking, talking representatives for the Buffalo City Mission. Qualifications Be in agreement with the Buffalo City Mission s Statement of Faith A servant s heart Have a good rapport with your church Commitment Level Attendance at the 4 yearly meetings Communication and organization to their church based on meetings and needs Responsibilities Attendance at the 4 yearly ambassador meetings starting in January Prayer for the needs of each other s churches and the needs of the homeless and hurting in our community. Regularly inform the pastor about the Buffalo City Mission s on going ministry and to encourage any updates from the pulpit, in the bulletin or in classes, Bible studies, etc. Receive and distribute the Buffalo City Mission s quarterly church newsletter The Open Heart and other Buffalo City Mission materials to your church through displays, handouts, bulletins, brochure racks to help promote the Buffalo City Mission ministries Promote special events such as the Hunger Hunt, the Motorcycle Run for the Homeless, Turkey and Hambone Express Coordinate and publicize donation drives within your church Encourage tours of the mission for your pastor, church leadership and church congregation Encouraging the scheduling of a speaker from the Mission for your church to share at least once a year during either a main worship service, Sunday School class, VBS, or mission s fair Provide contact information to potential donors Pass on any names you may receive of people who are interested in volunteering or who want to become involved with the Buffalo City Mission Pass on any feedback you may receive regarding events or your experience at the Buffalo City Mission Build relationships with other Christians, provide for those in need, know the joy of the Lord through making a difference in the lives of the poor and homeless!

Church Ambassador Agreement Form Purpose Statement The Buffalo City Mission s purpose is to serve the disadvantaged of Western New York, meeting their basic needs of shelter, food and clothing, witnessing the life changing power of the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ, while promoting their spiritual growth. Statement of Faith 1. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and therefore our only authority. 2. We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead. 3. We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God. 4. We believe in the fall of man and his need for redemption. 5. We believe in the deity, incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 6.
