HOLY TRINITY PARISH APRIL 23, 2017 LIGONIER, PA Deacon Ross Kelsch, who has been with us since August, is nearing the end of his Pastoral Practicum at our Parish, and the end of his seminary career. His Ordination to the Priesthood has been set for May 19, 2017 in the Diocese of Covington in Kentucky where he will serve as a priest. Please keep him in your prayers as he nears ordination. Coffee Socials Honoring Deacon Ross Kelsch We would like to honor Deacon Ross at coffee socials on Sunday, April 30, after both the 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses. Please join your fellow parishioners in congratulating Deacon Ross on his forthcoming ordination, bidding him adieu and wishing him well as he begins his life as a priest back in his home diocese in Kentucky. Break Bread Together Dinner It was so nice to see so many of our parishioners enjoying each other s company at the "Break Bread Together Dinner" after Holy Thursday Mass. Many thanks to all who attended, and many thanks to all who volunteered their time to make this a memorable event. Lent and Holy Week Thank You The Season of Lent, Holy Week and Easter run rather smoothly here at Holy Trinity Church because of the help of many parishioners. I would like to say Thank you to them for all they do. Bennett and the choir members for all their work at Stations of the Cross and all the Holy Week Services Altar Servers for their service at Stations of the Cross, Wednesday Evening Mass, and Holy Week. Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers for their service at the Altar. Carol for working out all the schedules of those who are serving. Ushers for their diligence in making sure everyone has a seat, taking care of the Sunday offering and seeing to any emergencies. Rita Bingaman for chairing our Holy Thursday Evening Dinner. Amber Carney and Shantel Burkholder, the many adult volunteers and the many young men, women, boys and girls that gave up their Lenten Saturdays to get ready to put on the Passion Play. Thank you all for your service and your help in Preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ, Risen from the dead. The fruit of your labor, I am sure has help to strengthen the faith of many people. Father John Children's Liturgy of the Word will not be held in May due to the celebration of First Eucharist at the 11:00 AM Mass. We congratulate all who will be receiving First Communion at the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, May 7. The next Children s Liturgy of the Word will be held on Sunday, June 4 and will continue to be offered on the first Sunday of every month. Holy Trinity Christian Mothers News EVERYONE INVITED! There will be a Potluck Dinner on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Atrium. The dinner will be followed with a Guest Speaker on the topic of Women of the Bible. No RSVP needed. Just bring your favorite dish. Organ Recital at St. Michael s of the Valley Episcopal Church St. Michael s cordially invites the public to join us for an Organ Recital with world renowned musician John Cannon on April 28 at 7:00 PM at St. Michael s as we celebrate the return of our newly renovated organ. Diaper Drive Westmoreland County Children s Bureau will be conducting a Diaper Drive to help local mothers in need. Please honor motherhood and the gift of life by bringing a pack of diapers to Church between May 7, and Mother s Day, May 14. Any size diapers are welcome. To date, the total of pledges and gifts is $95,424. We have already met our $51,980 diocesan target, been given a special gift of $20,000. to be used for children in need this coming Christmas, and have $23,444 in pledges that, when paid, will be available for parish needs. Follow up letters from Father John should be arriving in homes this week. If you haven t made your gift, please prayerfully discern your ability to contribute and return your pledge card at Mass next weekend or return it to the Parish Office.
